Item listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=112545772764&view=all&tid=1734909162001
The buyer opened a cased against me because his mother did not like the product.
I've sold all of this product withou any problems and on Amazon the product is listed as 5/5 stars.
Ebay closed this in buyer's favor. Also the thing is.. the buyer already sent the item without confirming with me and the address listed is my old address. I no longer reside there.
If my policy is no returns and there is no defect in the product.. why would ebay side with the buyer. I end up losing postage fees and selling fees.
here is the conversation that went between myself and the buyer. I was also willing to offer partial refund.

I understood late from my mother that the same pills I had ordered for her the first time didn t help or do anything to her, so I decided to return the other ones I ordered afterwards!!
You said youd authorize the return. Its right there in black and white...
As for her getting the wrong address, did she get it off the package or from ebay?

Yes offer returns. You can state in your return policy Item must be received by me as described and shown in the listing with no signs of use or damage. If you Really do not want to have to do returns you can charge a restocking fee...I only do this on "free shipping"

Technically, Ebay MBG overrides a seller's no returns policy.
This one is convuluted but I suppose the theory is that it was advertised as doing something that the buyer feels it did not, so therefore, that made it a SNAD.
Don't forget to BBL.
Sorry this happened to you.

Not everything. I sell handmade jewelry. According to International law, it's not refundable category of products.
But Ebay forced me to make a refund on remorse reason, item was as describe.
There is no rights on Ebay for selles, unfortunetely.
Buy the way, I've never got my return back... buyer stayed with money and with a product! This is how it works, Ebay.

he messaged asking for a return.. then provided no response.. ships it back (hasn't provided tracking yet).. then opened a return request before i even had the chance to resolve anything. i wasn't even aware that he shipped it back until he left a message saying he did.
the reason he chose for the return is "defect"
The first message on Nov 21 (22 in the return screen) is "buyer has requested a return" with comments.
So ... yes ... the buyer DID open a return request...on Nov 21 (or 22 ... time zone, maybe?)
Your response to that was "send pics so I can initiate the RETURN"

You either never accepted the SNAD return or never sent a pre-paid return label, thus you lost the item and the money. Almost EVERYTHING on eBay is returnable/refundable.

Always choose 14 days retun accepted with 20% restocking fee. ( I don't know if can we set higher) Also don't list your item so cheep. "No returns accepted" is a E-bay's cheat to the sellers. If you don't accept retuns, you will give your item as a gift to the buyer. Most buyers know that.

@redrozi2013 You need to read the spring seller update. Restocking fees are no longer allowed.

It was announced in the spring 2018 update that restocking fees are no longer allowed. Will go into effect in June.

eBay and PayPal ALWAYS side with buyer. The main reason of this practice is to minimize possible buyer's credit card charge back to save their cost and make more profit. Buyer can file charge back with credit card issuer WITHOUT LOSING ONE PENNY even later on dispute is found in favor of seller (Buy never pays fees for a dispute regardless of the outcome). While eBay and PayPal have to spend money to process charge backs: money for labor (hire people to process) and office and possible penalty when case loses.
I had a case where the buyer bought the wrong item and sent back to unauthorized address found on the sender's section of the shipping label of the package, without evening contacting me or officially requesting return for an official return address. I had moved and the returned item was lost.
After the item tracking shows "delivered" on UPS site, the buyer requested refund from me. Obviously since I moved and never received the return, I refused refund. Buyer then requested return in PayPal for fake reason "item is defective". I had to accept it and authorized the return to the NEW address. The buyer just inputted the tracking number and PayPal immediately issued him full refund. I appealed and failed. The PayPal agent says although the tracking shows item was returned BEFORE return request was made, and was delivered to a different city (old address) other than the one (new address) I specified, it still counts as a "valid" return address because the distance between the old and new address is so "close" . When I asked how close is deemed as close enough to be counted as valid return address, the agent says it is completely at PayPal's sole discretion. Let's imagine a revered case, if seller ships item to a "close enough" city other than the original one on the order, I seriously doubt eBay/PayPal will deem the addres is valid and side with seller when buyer says not received..
In another crazy return case, buyer is supposed to return TWO items. However he messaged me in eBay "I have disposed the one of them so I can only send back one, not two". I had to respond "OK, please send back the only one you have at hand". Eventually I really received only one back. I wanted to charge restocking fees so I called eBay custom service. You know what the agent sad to me?? "Well, I see you messaged the buyer you are OK to receive one of them, not two. The message is deemed as an AGGREEMENT between you seller and your buyer. So even the buyer really returned only one, you cannot refuse full refund or charge restocking fees" --- So what is the final outcome? The buyer got one $150 item for free, and I lost $150, wasted more than one hour on phone with eBay agents, and received a defect on my seller performance because I called to open a case that was sided with buyer.
There are tons of sad stories like these. No help to complain. You have to accept or you cannot sell online. That's cost of doing bunnies. Unless the credit card charge back rules are changed to being more favorable to seller, the situation where seller is always disadvantaged in dispute will never change.
Remember, eBay and PayPal ALWAYS (not 100% but at least 99%) side with buyer. Take this into account and think it carefully if you can afford the loss before you start to sell.
