Ebay changing listings for international selling & shipping

I don't have very many listings, I do not sell or ship international.

I just had a sale and it was for international.

Checked all my other listing and every one was set to

sell & ship international.

Check your Listing as ebay is changing things...again.

Only you can set your listings to international shipping, do you have foreign countries blocked permanently in seller preferences in My Ebay? You should also block non USA payments in Paypal.

Ebay lately has been checking the "Sell internationally with the Global Shipping Program" as a default when creating a new listing, at least on mine, maybe randomly, if you don't want it you have to deselect it. I have read other sellers complain about this, I don't know if it's random, but it has never been my default and I noticed it when it changed my settings to accept international selling on a listing that I didn't offer it. So I don't know if this is what you are referring to, but I now have to deselect it every time.

Enrolling buyers unknowingly into GSP has been happening for years. There have been many times sellers have had to opt out 2,3,4 times. Just like ghost listings - it comes and goes.

Not for me. It just started recently. Maybe for others? That's sad that some have to opt out several times for something they never opted into!

I can't speak for the OP but if my listings were suddenly changed to include a country where I don't ship then yes, I would have an unwanted sale.

I blocked that country for a reason.

If ebay is randomly applying it to random sellers, and unless they are checking the item, the seller may be opted in to shipping something to another country that is not permitted.  Many countries don't allow gold jewelry, as an example.  Others don't allow leather or types of clothing.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

It was a glitch.  Glitches happen. The international sale when through when it wasn't supposed to.

A)  Dispute the sale. Get ebay to cancel that darn order and take the money back out of your paypal account.

B)  Let it slide. The money is already in your paypal account.  Keep the money. Send the item out like you normally would. Nothing different to do.  Nothing more to do.  You would never even know it was an international sale. The package is going to Kentucky.

It's kind of a no-brainer IMO.

Has the buyer actually paid for the item yet?  They may very well have a domestic shipping address.

I have to deselect it every time I list something if i don’t want to ship it internationally. That’s okay because I don’t mind some things selling that way. It it’s really heavy it stays in the US.

I don’t want to have to pay for returns internationally.

Yes it is happening - Same thing happened to another account we have - We even received an email from Global Shipping Program saying thanks for opting in(which we never did of course) - Had to Go to settings and opt out and then bulk edit all our listings to remove the international sale option. Caught us off guard and it was only a couple of emails from international buyers that got us wondering what was up.

Yes Glitches do happen, but it gets old when the same things keep happening over and over and somehow Ebay just happens to change your site preferences to something that benefits them every time.  I had to go back and change mine again to no GSP even though I have not shipped internationally except to Canada ever.  This is just another Money Grab by Ebay and I am sorry but they are getting old.  On another Website a self proclaimed Ex-Ebay employee stated the following was mentioned in one of the many executive meetings "Keep on playing with the system so that we will have more "glitches" which will cost the customer tons of extra money. If they catch us ....well, you know "it was an IT issue, we're working on it" "  This is beginning to sound more and more like the actual way that Ebay is run.

This is not how a so called Tech Company should be running, period.

I see that your last 2 sales did have the GSP enabled.

I checked several of your current listings and they all showed shipping to USA only.

I honored the sale....but now I will close the account now.

I didn't select to sell international, didn't know about it

until I had a sale.  I am not going to sell on ebay,

with checking every listing that has been listed for 2 months

to see if anything changed.

I am done with ebay.
