Are your listings GTC?

I don't use GTC so not sure, but I'm pretty sure I've seen people say you can tell how long a GTC has been listed for.

Hopefully someone else will come along who can tell you.

Does a GTC retain the same item ID when it renews? That may be one way to tell.

Yes a GTC keeps the same ID when it rolls over, that is why it is called GTC.

Back in the spring, ebay began ending listings that were over a year old with no sales.

( this program seems to have died on the vine, but not until sellers were going bonkers )

I have slow selling items, but when you need one you will find me.

So over a two month span I ended my listings and did a sell similar.

This gave all my listings a new "birth date"

But as I recall before this ebay "great idea" you could see the original start date.

But hey, gave me a chance to review and update listings.

But I have never seen a way to rank them by age... there should be.

But someone smarter than me will be by soon.

Re: Ebay Store Inventory Sorting

When you sort a seller's listings by "newest first," the GTC listings go by their original listing date.  So if you sort that way and go to the bottom of the list you'll see the seller's oldest listings.    The OP has listings that are well over a year old. Maybe two years.

Thanks for that.

Yeah, probably time to review those listings.

Go to your store as if you are the buyer on the front end, not the back.  Sort by "newly listed".  This puts all of your items in order from when they were originally listed.  You just need to go to the end to see the oldest ones.  Of course, if they are out of stock and you use that option, you won't see them in the store.

If yours are truly GTC and you don’t manually re-list them, just go to your Active Listings and sort by date listed. Your oldest ones will be at the top because if you do the “set and forget” method, the original list date will always remain with the item. That way you can easily edit or send to auction or end or whatever you want to do. That’s how I manage my oldest listings.

The other thing I do to help me keep track of when I listed my items is that I assign each item a unique inventory number in sequential order. That way, I know at a glance how old something is.
