Hi i have this person make offer on a item and i accepted .
I tested it and it worked good .They sent a immediate return upon recieving .
I started to look at their feedback. And then their feedback for others.
This is a big scammer and has been doing it to many other people . And leaving them negatives .
I feel so bad for all thos other sellers. How does ebay keep alllowing this. This person is a obvious big tiem scammer .Its hard to tell how many people are victims as some leave automatic feedback . Im not a expert on this and what are the exact steps .
They have just opened a false return tryign to get me pay return shipping . Looks like they are also sending many sellers garabage back and junk instead of their items .

You will have to accept the return and pay return shipping. I think you will get a brick shipped back to you.
You need to report the buyer just to get it on record.
If it were me I would do this. Leave a note in your mail box not to leave any packages, only the note to pick up at Post Office. I would then open the package in front of a supervisor. If you are in a rural small PO they may be accommodating.
This sounds like a far fetched thing but it is the only way this will get stopped. The Post Office should have a service for a fee where returns can be opened at the Post Office and a note of contents on the tracking. Not a detailed thing but simply just a note of contents. This can then be used for decision making.

What's the item?

It is obvious the buyer has escalated to regular scammer from just a novice

Yeah, that's why I'm wondering if in this case seller even wants to pay for return shipping of a box of rags...

I know my idea above sounds far fetched but who is in charge of Mail Fraud? The Post Office. I guarantee about 10 publicized cases of federal convictions for mail fraud would echo around the scammers boards. It would stop overnight.
It's like the police saying we won't prosecute shoplifting.

I do like your idea, I wonder if it ever works.

I got the idea on the power seller boards a few years back. I searched a few months ago and can not find it. A lady sold a very expensive vase to France- $2000+. She got a return and her gut told her she was getting scammed. When that package arrived had it held at the post office and opened it front of a supervisor. As expected it was not the vase. The supervisor wrote an official letter and she won her case. The thread stretched out over several days or a week. It was one of those depressing threads then a happy ending. Anyone remember this?

After seeing the type of FB left - I would block him/her. I don't know which item you sold to the buyer, but in the future, on Best Offers, I would check the buyer out prior to accepting his/her offer. I don't think that eBay will do much. From the looks of the FB left, he/she should be close to a claim limit. And if they return anything other than what you sold to them, file Mail Fraud via USPS.
Sorry the thief buyer found you 😞

That idea has been posted here as the "only way to stop it", as has the idea of videotaping yourself when you package, mail and /or receive the item back.
And yet never once in more than a decade of reading these boards do I recall a seller ever saying that it accomplished anything.
Sellers who encounter this behavior either choose to stay and absorb it, or leave and go somewhere else. Given that ebay currently has 1 billion listings, I would assume that many of those sellers choose to stay and accept getting ripped off occasionally.

I agree but they do it because they have no recourse. Mail Fraud is not prosecuted.

Terrific that once in a blue moon this happens. Any idea what paperwork to file in this case? I am all for it if there's a way for sellers to fight back on receiving trash.
Beautiful morning in Michigan! Not too hot, not too cold, just right for this Goldilocks 🙂

Yes, we all do. Most of the time it is only a false snad claim to avoid paying postage on remorse. These cases of sending back trash though, I do wonder if at least the seller can get complimentary refund from ebay. It does happen, although it seems to be a one time thing that ebay will absorb the cost for the seller.
Most importantly, to get this buyer on ebay's blacklist and get them kicked off.

Good grief! I went and read Feedback Left For Others for this person and my jaw literally dropped. I can't understand why eBay hasn't jerked that jerk from both buying and selling at this site.

And you know, probably most of the sellers ripped off aren't even leaving false positives because they know it is a violation.
