Ebay Removed All of My Listings | Please Help

I'll preface this by saying I'm a new seller. I've only been selling for about 2 weeks. I was in the process of adding new listings and I received an email from eBay. In short, the email said, "After reviewing your account, we've had to take action. Some or all of your listings may have been removed. The listings removed from your account showed similarities to listings that have resulted in bad buying experiences." They removed everything without much of an explanation.

I don't quite understand this because I was extremely meticulous about what listed. I only listed unbranded items that were reviewed very highly everywhere on the web. I only had about 15 listings and some of them were starting to heat up pretty well. By the way, I was selling iPhone and AirPods cases. Just the cases and not the electronics.

Steps I took:
I verified my account/identity
• I got my new seller limits increased
• I manually listed the items without a third-party software
• I offered competitive pricing
• All of my listings were $13 or less
• I personally shipped items from the city that is registered on my account
• I only sold generic unbranded items

I called eBay several times to get some kind of an explanation and each representative kept saying that my items were counterfeit items. How is a clear unbranded iPhone case counterfeit? It's a clear generic case. Anyway, if anyone has any feedback or helpful advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. I feel so lost. Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
Brieanna

@mam98031,

I've contacted eBay several times in the last couple of days to ask them specifically where I went wrong and how I can correct my mistakes moving forward. Every single representative was Chinese, no offense, and when I tried to ask them to tell me exactly why my listings were removed they couldn't provide me any useful feedback whatsoever. They'd pretty much say the same rehearsed lines, "I want to be straightforward and honest with you, we can't say exactly why your listings were removed because it was removed by our internal team. We can not contact them." Something along those lines and I've spoken to about 7 people so far.

They'd put me on hold for 10-20 minutes and return with a "manager" who would say the exact same things and literally talk me into a circle. Honestly, I don't even feel comfortable listings anymore because eBay hasn't told me specifically what I did wrong. I'm afraid to spend my time listing products only to have them wiped away again.

Yes I know, that is why I made the suggestion I did at the top of the thread.

But you need to be VERY VERY careful here.  Like I said, you have gotten some GREAT advice here, but none of us can see your entire listings that were removed.  We can ONLY go by what we see.  If you go ahead and move forward with the advice you have received here, while you may have corrected what Ebay objected to in your title and maybe your pics, you may not be correcting something important that was in your description of ISBs [item specific boxes].

You NEED to talk to someone at Ebay that can see everything.  To move forward right now without that advice is a HUGE risk to the health of your selling account.  Of course if you are comfortable that you have received the info you need to move forward from some of the wonderful posters on this thread, it is your right to do as you see fit.  It is your account after all.

I do understand the frustration with the Call Center.  Really I do.  I've been here a long time and I'm very versed on the pitfalls of the call center.  Which is why I suggested you contact Ebay via Social Media.  Get more personalized help.

I'll tag the CSRs that are on the threads and see if they can help you.  Whatever you decide to do, I sincerely hope it all works out for you.  It is clear to me that you are trying VERY HARD to be a good and responsible seller.

Re: Ebay Removed All of My Listings | Please Help

@tess707070,

To be honest, the characters are selling all over eBay by thousands of sellers. I assumed because so many sellers are selling them that they were okay to sell myself. As a new seller, all I can do is study what new sellers and veterans are doing and follow suit. It's obvious that they're from Disney.

If you search eBay for "Cute Cartoon 3D AirPods case" you're going to see thousands of sellers selling them by the minute. Even brand new sellers like myself have them listed.

If it's against the eBay policy for that particular item to be listed why are they allowing so many thousands of sellers to have them listed? I could be wrong but it feels like they turn a blind eye to some because they're selling a lot. I could be wrong, but that's just what it seems like.

You can't judge your listings by that of others.  Sometimes it is just that Ebay hasn't caught up to those sellers and sometimes they never will.  I've been caught up in that before myself.

No matter what I do, I can't list Bond No. 9 fragrances with ANY pic of the product.  I get my listings removed every single time.  I sell a series of patterns from Annie's Attic for Barbie dolls.  But if I put Barbie in the title my listings get removed.  Yet there are 1,000's of other listings by other sellers that have done so for YEARS.

So you can only deal with what is directly happening to you.  I know it doesn't seem fair and it really isn't, but it is the reality here.

Re: Ebay Removed All of My Listings | Please Help

@mam98031,

From what I've experienced so far, it seems like as a new seller I can't mimic what other sellers are doing and I can't rely on eBay customer service for help, advice, or definitive answers.

That really sucks that restrict you as well, but it is a little comforting to know that I'm not alone. I wish there was more of a balance in place for these types of situations. Or at least a department in customer service that was more helpful.

If I'm not able to get answers, I probably won't list anything else.

Thank you for your feedback and help that you've given me, I really appreciate your time and effort.

You are welcome.  The member boards, such as this one is a great place to come for answers.  The wonderful advice you have gotten on this thread is likely to solve whatever issue you had with your listing.  I just caution you because none of us can see the body of your listings.  So if there was something else, we can't see it, therefore we can't assist you with protecting / correcting yourself.

Now the call center is NOT always wrong.  But as you have experienced, the often fall short of giving us enough information about ANY given warning / listing removal for us to confidently move forward with corrections to resolve the matter.

PLEASE don't let this one issue cause you not to sell on EBay.  We can get you some help.  One of the guys will hopefully pop in before the day is over and offer some assistance for you.  They don't typically work over the weekend, so if they don't come today, it is likely to be Monday.

It will work out and there is a way to make sure you comply so you can move forward on Ebay.  Just hang in there.  Help is coming.

Re: Ebay Removed All of My Listings | Please Help

@mam98031,

I really appreciate your encouragement. You've definitely gone above and beyond to help and support me. I'm sincerely thankful.

I'm hopeful that an eBay member will reach out to me with solid information. I've messaged the eBay for Business Facebook page and the Ask eBay Twitter page. So, I haven't stopped trying.

As far as the body of my listings, I hand-coded the HTML in the item description section. I took my time to manually enter everything. I also made sure to fill in the: Features, Brand, Colors, Material, Compatible Model, etc.

I've attached a screenshot of the item desc section that I used as a template for all of my listings.

Hi @brixmart, I've looked over this thread and see that you've been given some good advice from other members. Reviewing the action taken in this situation would require a detailed look at your account. However, the Community Team cannot discuss account details publicly here on the Community. The advice to contact our Social Media team is a good route to take at this point. They'll be able to review the account and the action taken to discuss this with you further.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for giving the OP great advice!

Brian,
