Ebay Does Not Notify Me That I Sold Something!

Ebay does not let me know I sold something.  I used to get an email.  That stopped.  Then I checked ebay messages.  That worked for a while and then stopped.  Then I checked sold and found that I sold something and shipping was past due!  At the same time the item was sold, it still appeared on my Active page.  What is the best  and fastest way to be notified that I sold something?

Bookmark your sold page and check it several times a day.....

Depending on an email is just a disaster waiting to happen............

You List; You Check the format/entity that you are listing on, at the least...daily.

Using email or messages or dings is ridiculously dangerous as those are just another 'tech' avenue that can glitch and not work.

check your order page every day: Its your metrics that take a hit if you miss a sale and ship late.

If you are going to sell on Ebay it is imperative that you check your sold listings at least ONCE A DAY. Never rely on someone else to do your job.

You are saying that your Seller Hub didn't have a bold-red "Items to be Shipped Now" notice or the red "1" under "Awaiting Shipment"?

When you check your messages make sure you are checking "All" (not just members or just ebay)

You are so LUCKY!!!

I wish eBay would shut up.  I know I have items waiting payment or waiting shipment.  I don't need another mom telling me what I needed to do today or  to be told twice that I refunded someone.

The fastest way?  Learn to look, every day or a couple times a day.  This is grown up world where you need to be responsible for you.

At the same time the item was sold, it still appeared on my Active page.

To touch on that point. My preferences are set up with the "out of stock" (OOS) function activated .

What happens with the OOS is that an item will still show "active" for you, but is not seen (should not be seen) by those searching on eBay. If someone had it in their "watching" they may be able to open it, but it will show that it is zero available.

What OOS does is to leave the listing "active".  For  the way I sell, on many of what I sell, I have multiples of the same item which I replenish from time to time.  The OOS keeps that listing # to provide continued connections for searches from other place such as google.  Also a temp OOS does not end the listing causing me to have to use another of my allotted free listings when the item sells quickly. I often sell 3-4 of the same item in a month, but use only one free listing that way.

If your OOS option is activated (eBay may have done that for you), and you do not have another item/will not get another item, you will need to manually end the listing.  Although no one can purchase an OOS item it will continue to renew monthly using up a freebie listing. After 6 months of OOS  it will no longer renew.

You can go to seller preferences to see if it is check marked.

Hover on your name up on the left>

click on account settings>

under Selling click on selling preferences>

Multi-quantity listings DON'T CLICK ON learn more (it does not link to desired answer)

Multi-quantity listings    Listings stay active when you're out of stock>  Toggle RIGHT OOS is active. Toggle LEFT OOS is inactive.

OOS is a universal setting.   You can not choose individual  to use it on. It is either used on all, or it is used on none.

My email loves to send legitimate emails to spam. I'll mark them as not spam and then a week later another email from the very same email mailing list will end up back in spam again. Drives me crazy.

You must not be as desperate for sales as I am.

I log in to ebay every few hours to see if I sold anything.
