Ebay Basic Store Info

I'm thinking of subscribing to an Ebay Basic store. But there is conflicting information online about the number of zero-insertion-fee Fixed price listings you get per month. Can someone who actually has a Basic Level Store help answer a question? Some Ebay pages say you get 1,000 free fixed priced's listings + 10,000 free in select categories. Great. That's what I want. But, other Ebay pages say only 1,000 and then say nothing at all about an extra 10,000 in select categories. Can someone clarify which is true? Is it 1,000 per month or is it 1,000 + 10,000 per month? Thats a huge difference. (I understand that my account selling limits will apply, but I still need to know which is true.) Thank you!

Here is the  main Help  page about seller subscriptions and fees. The chart requires careful reading, because there are two separate lists of  "Select categories": one for auctions and one for fixed price listings.  But you do get those extra 10,000 fixed price listings in select categories. If a page didn't mention them, that was an oversight or perhaps an obsolete page that hadn't been updated.

I have a Basic and I get 1,000 + 10,000. I've never once used any of the Select Categories listings. I also believe that in order to pull from that 10,000 pool, you need to have exhausted your 1,000 "all categories" first (someone confirm this for me). So if you list a trading card listing, it will pull from your 1,000 first before looking to your 10,000.

If that's true, it makes the 10,000 even less valuable.

Keep in mind, if you do decide to subscribe to a basic store it will not change any selling limits you may have.

Thanks. Yes, that's the page that DOES mention the extra 10,000. Are you saying you have a Basic account and use those extra 10,000? I need to be sure. I can't be charged for thousands of listings because of outdated info pages. I've actually had that happen, to the amount of $600 I never got back. Please confirm you have a Basic store and use those extra 10,000 without being charged insertion fees. Thanks.

I have a basic store and only used the 10,000 for select categories. Never used the 1,000 basic store subscription fixed price listings. Never used the 250 auction style free listings either.

Thanks for that image, which shows that your fixed price listings in "Select categories" come off of the allocation of 10,000 extras before they come off of your basic 1,000 free fixed price insertions.

Sorry guys -- I accidentally switched accounts mid-conversation. I'm classicpix and beerkeg. Thanks everybody for your input. ebooksdiva -- Thanks, thats very helpful. I noticed that your screen shot shows your available free-insertions under "Promotional Listings". Do you why they are shown that way? The extra 10K are there EVERY month, right?

All the store and non-store monthly free insertions are always shown as "promotional offers."

I find at times it’s easier to show an image than to try to explain it. Most people are visual learners.
I sell in books and magazines I’ve never gone over the 10,000 but if I were to list in a category other than “select categories” then it will come off the basic 1,000 fixed price.

Especially for this OP, who is extra-skeptical.

They are shown that way because they are shown as “promotional” for store subscribers. Yes the extra 10,000 starts over every month.
Glad I could help.

As shown by the earlier example---it isn't correct that the 1000 have to be used first.  I just looked at mine and they are about half & half based on my wide variety of items listed.   Since basic gives me so many freebies now, I rarely ever look.  I use to have to fret over them every month.
