I’ve been selling on ebay for 15 years and Ive NEVER had a problem with any of my buyers that I’ve sold to from sneakers to everyday items. Recently I’ve bought BRAND NEW Jordan 1s that came with the box and with brand new smell. I bought them from NIKE.com and for assurance , the sneakers were authenticated by StockX. Ive put these sneakers on sale for $450 and it ended up being sold the a couple of hours later. I shipped it out and then Authenticators received and it fails authentication. I was shocked and offended. I decided to called customer service to get an explanation. I’ve spoken with that department and at first he explained that “yes it’s failed authentication and he can’t tell me why exactly!” Which doesn’t make any sense at all! Basically, the guy lied to me. I’ve decided to call back and spoke to someone else who was able to explain to me why…his exact words were “they’re unable to authenticate it” in other words, they done have enough experience, skill and knowledge to determine if it’s genuine or fake. At that point I was extremely **bleep** off and I ended speaking with the supervisor. I said because of your department lack of experience and skills …my business ended up losing money. $450 to be exact! I even had proof from stockx, that the sneakers are legit!. It didn’t matter, she said. I have a 100% feed back and made many sales throughout the years and I never had a problem or returns until this department got in the middle of . What makes it more unfair is the fact that if they’re unable to “authenticate it”, that means llthey cancel the sale that I’ve made and return the money to the buyer. Despite the fact that’s it’s legit and have proof that it is. Not only eBay has caused me to lose money at my business, eBay also doesn’t have the knowledge, skill or experience to determine if they’re legit or not. I have lost hundreds to thousands of dollars because of this. I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one that has this horrific experience. I’m glad to see that I’m not the that experienced this

Did you expect them to say something like "this shoe lace tip is not the type Nike uses".......or some specific reason? I doubt they would do that as it just would give a counterfeiter info on what to correct.

Well first off my sneakers weren't “counterfeit”. When I’ve bought them from NIKE and I have proof that it’s legit from stockx. Second, they said they were “unable to authenticate it”. In other words, they don’t have the knowledge on what to look for. 3rd, If you believe what you say is true. Then how come the other customer service rep explained everything to me and the supervisor as well? So, you’re further from the truth. Every other authentication company will explain to you if an event that it didn’t pass or fail. I Never heard of a company that deprives you that info. The company that eBay uses for their authentication program has cost sellers, including myself thousands of dollars. Especially, those that has a perfect feedback record for over a decade and 100% rating, like myself. I won’t be surprised when someone files a lawsuit against eBay for damages that they’ve caused when this programs launched. That company lacks knowledge, experience and skills on how to properly authenticate sneakers or any others items thats been sold.

Yeah the whole process is ridiculous. I put up two pairs of Yeezys that I got directly from Yeezy Supply, they authenticated one pair and couldn't authenticate the other. They aren't even hype beast sneakers in crazy demand or anything. They really should raise the authentication price to like $200+ any random sneaker is over $100 these days.
