I've got this when the buyer supplied eBay with an address that had a line that did not fit the allowed width of the address field. In this case I discovered that the error had been highlighted on the form before I hit "save and purchase postage."

Once I found that error on the page and fixed it the red error message did not appear when I saved. [I later used Photoshop to restore the full address to the shipping label.]
