I got an email recently saying I would be enrolled in EIS. My international customers do not want this. You can't combine items and most like to do that (and pay one low shipping rate for everything combined) and Canadian customers certainly won't want to give up their 2.65 postage rate for this EIS noise.
How do I opt out of this?
All my listings (that are not intended to be USA only) have shipping added by Economy International method with a postage rate for me to post it to them myself, either by USPS, Asendia, Chit Chats or Canada Post. I choose the method.
Help with opting out please.
Thank you,
C.

The main thing I've noticed (as a potential buyer) about eIS is that import fees are not included.
On the pro side: the bottom line price looks cheaper than with GSP where import fees were charged before the seller shipped.
On the con side: the buyer will be startled when they receive the purchase and are charged duty and sales tax before the carrier will hand it over.
On the con side: this reopens the Customs Hold scam, where the buyer reports the purchase INR when it is at customs awaiting payment of duty (and sales taxes). When the payment is refunded, the buyer pays the import fees and picks up the freebie.

Is the web programming smart enough to know
Well the coins sellers keep complaining that the programming is not smart enough to know that bullion is not generally taxable in spite of months and months of reports.
Actually, not necessarily Reports. Make it "posts to the Sellers Board" which is not generally read by eBay staff.
And while I have been told bullion is not taxable because it is a capital gain, I don't see why it should be any more than Beanie Babies, or tulip bulbs, or any other collectible. YMMV.
