EBay removing threatening comments

I've been selling steadily on eBay for 21 years, over 11,000 feedbacks. I have no negatives, no neutrals. I always take care of my buyers, no exceptions. I listed a $1 1882-O/S Morgan for 99c 10-day auction. This clown messages me that the two close-up images of the mintmark are two different coins. It is a declarative statement, not an inquiry. I write him back explaining how he's wrong. I stick to the facts, maintain professionalism, and don't attack the guy personally. Then, in response to my explanation, the fellow says that he has a friend who is a forensic photographic expert, so rather than accepting that the lighting is playing tricks on his eyes, he's escalating the matter to prove that he's correct. So I write him back and I tell him that it is a GREAT IDEA that he involves a forensic photographic analyst. I tell this fellow that his analysis is invited and will PROVE beyond all doubt that the two images are the same coin. The fellow threatens that he's going to report me and tell all of his friends what a crook I am. EBay removed all of this clown's commentary. My only recourse is to block this buyer. My feeling is that eBay is acting very unprofessional by deleting this person's threats from my messages. EBay is protecting a low-IQ and abusive person. I'm not a happy camper.

Never come close to that yet, but I would guess (because it would be easiest to program) they just give you an error message that you have too many usernames on your list.  That said, it does auto-delete users that have been NARU'd once you try to save the list, so that can free up some space potentially.

I wonder what happens when you go to block your 5001st buyer.  Like would it prompt you to delete some, does it auto-delete some?  -If so hopefully it would start with the earliest-placed ones.

No, you just would not be able to add a new one as it is full.  But for a seller reaching that limit on the blocks I would think is pretty rare.  A seller can delete some anytime they want to.

They use to put the extension .delete on buyers on the BBL that were no longer registered.  Every few months I'd go in and delete those from my list.  Sometime ago they stopped doing that, so there is no easy way that I'm aware of to review the list.  However for me, I'd never get close to 5,000 in this lifetime so it isn't a real issue for me.

Wow, A+ for drama.

In what way am I being rude? That's right: I wasn't rude whatsoever.

I'm outta here. Your opinions, while you are entitled to them, are uninspiring.

If you don't want the other member to be censored, then don't report the email.  Where the "corruption" comes in IDK.  Nor do I know where the "devious controlling platform" enters the conversation.

The receiver of the offending email reported it to Ebay for offensive language, threats or whatever it is the other member was doing wrong.

You are looking for a conspiracy where it is likely none exist nor does it even make sense that one would exist.  If you have concerns, the fix is so darn simple.  Keep a copy of the email before you report it.  It is really that simple.

While I'm not sure I agree with Ebay editing the emails that get reported, they do however retain a copy of the email in its original form.
