As of May 11, eBay stripped the item specifics from over 1300 of my items -- but now wants me to go back and replace ALL of that information from scratch!
I'm a 73 year old, one-man business, operating from my basement and a spare bedroom, and I definitely don't have the time to individually re-load information, one item at a time, that had already been listed previously, sometimes from nearly 10 years ago!
What kind of rinky-dink moron came up with this asinine idea?!?

They did this before to the item specifics and admitted it was a mistake. I am currently putting information back into my listings which was already there. Who is managing this company?

Gazan tourist industry?

I'm having same issues also - how are we supposed to list new items while having to add item specifics that were already there?!

Camus had much to say about the plight of man. Just push that ball up the slope by starting with the highest price items working down.
I lost 800 listings and over 4000 photos a couple of years ago. Nothing I could do but buy some ice cream and make a party out of it. Two years later I am still hunting down more than half of the items which are mixed in with 20,000 other inventory items with only one way to see if they are currently active or in hiding. I have to open my store and search the key title words and hope it is live. If not it goes onto the photo shoot pile and I start from scratch.
Good luck on your item specifics.

I would NOT do anything until after tomorrow....... They have said there will be fluctuations in IS between May 11-13.....no definition of what that means......but it could wipe out anything new/replace old.....
I just wouldn't mess with it right now.........

One can only hope.

I hope you're right. Over 800 of mine wiped out everything.
If we have to re-do these, it will be daunting and months and months of work.
Someone at e-bay needs to be fired over this mess. And it is a mess.

It's freakin ridiculous. I can see how they might tweak or update some categories, but don't wipe out our work. I'm getting alerts that I need to update required specs for some of my listings. They show "size" is required now. Well, no "bleep". Of course I had size in there till it was wiped out and now they want me to chew my cud twice. enough already

According to the Ebay notice, we have until the end of July to enter all specifics or , they will not be "live". I have way too many to do all; tried about 40 yesterday. Since the condition was removed for all cards, a seller would have to look at each card again(impossible task with 8,000). Now, if you state card not graded and haven t the time to look at each card again, all buyers would be messaging about what is the condition! On the correction layout, it requires an ID number(not even sure where that would go); therefore you must go to a revising list of the original listing to add changes. will have to wait out the 2 months,if they dont get rid of this strange new system changes. Then, decide either to re-list, or just drop many listings. Just unreal the amount of time this has taken already for sellers. These changes, in no ways, helps buyers! someone needs to listen to us. What about the sellers who have 100,000 to 1 million listings? what are they saying?

I pointed this out to someone yesterday and they acted like I was the problem.
I need the actual product in my hand to even answer the **bleep** questions and YES, I had ALL that data in there that was painstaking to enter the 1st time!!
We had spent months entering ALL the item specifics+ detailed ones of our own on every **bleep** listing. Because we wanted them optimized in search.
To have to do everything again - it is absurd, daunting and unreasonable to expect.
AND what they wanted entered is Garbage and non-sensical. Just really messed up.

"What about the sellers who have 100,000 to 1 million listings? what are they saying?"
Exactly! What about all those eBay Anchor Stores who have thousands and thousands of items, which now have to be individually RE-LISTED, due to some lunatic I-T intern , who has decided to eliminate a couple decades worth of item specifics -- for NO LOGICAL REASON WHATSOEVER!!!
I'll be long dead before I can finish undoing the harm to which eBay has so thoughtlessly condemned me.
And, in the meantime, I don't have any EXTRA time to list anything NEW.
Watch eBay's profits dwindle after THIS fiasco!
