EBay adding best offer to fixed price listings

I have called ebY several times since last year because they keep adding ridiculous best offers to my listings. When I kept complaining, even to supervisors, they told me there is nothing I can do but to revise my listings. As a matter of fact, I had to revise 30 of my listings. Is there anything I can do to stop it, or am I just going to have to keep wasting my time by editing MY OWN LISTINGS?

Nope.

They know better than you (according to them).

Some of us feel they're hurting financially and are in desparate need of funds from any source possible.  That means FVFs on any amount rather than leaving items unsold.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

Nothing you can do about it. eBay is randomly doing this to some sellers only. Many sellers have been complaining just like you are, with no relief. Sad that eBay has to do this to sellers and will not stop. The move is just another example of eBay's race to the bottom mentally.

Re: EBay adding best offer to fixed price listings

Ebay has decided to add Best Offer for sellers who are new to selling and even long time sellers who haven't sold consistently no matter how long they have been an Ebay member - to help those sellers generate sales.

I'm not in favor of it - but there is a reason for it and it is not just happening to sellers unless they are new or just haven't sold on a regularly basis. I hate misinformation being given.

Here is the link to the announcement

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/UPDATED-eBay-is-Helping-Boost-Conversion-with-Best-Offer...

It has been posted and I am not 100% sure it works that if you use the Advanced listing tool they may not add the Buy it now to your items.
Next time you list try the advanced form , you can't revise any of your current listings to it
only from relist or new listings.
Look in top right corner of quick listing form for the option to switch to advanced tool

Re: EBay adding best offer to fixed price listings

@doctors_boutique  It is a disgrace that eBay's phone support does not give you the reasons and answers to this situation like the eBay Support Team did here on The Community during a Weekly Chat.  They have sated that if you use the Quick Listing tool after on week they can add the Best Offer but if you switch to the Advanced Listing toll they do not add it.  I know because I asked.

The reasons are rather nebulous with explanation for another time ... suffice it to say, that if you switch to the Advanced Listing tool it should stop ... there has only been one thread to my knowledge where a Seller using the Advanced Tool said that B.O. was being activated but I suspect they may have made a mistake and it was turned on accidenty during Relisting (I use "accidently" loosely as occasionally I find features turned on or changed NOT by me during Relisting but it seems ot be a rare occasion).

Hope that helps ...

Yes, try it on a listing or two even if you have to inflate the price to see if it happens or not ... I can at least advise you that here, on 3 accounts all using the Advanced Tool on several hundred listings B.O. has not been turned on ...
