Not sure if I'm getting anything, (but I hope I do). Reading about the $25 eBay cards, it seems like you will be able to use these for anything on eBay, not just eBay branded items?

Only $25 'gift card' I'm aware of is the quarterly Shipping Supplies if you have a Store, and you can only use that toward eBay branded shipping supplies.

P.S. Thanks for the reminder, I forgot to spend this quarter's $25 and today is the last day!

I think they are referring to the $25 gift card offered for being one of 3,000 (?) attendees to answer a survey on the last day of eBay Open.

I got my swag for attending the preview. I believe the $25 gift card swag is if you answered all the surveys for three days of ebay Open AND you were one of the first 3000 to do so. (However, I wouldn't be too surprised if everyone who answered all three surveys got the GC, whether you were in the first 3000 or not.)

In any event, in my experience the GC is good for anything being sold on eba, it isn't tied to shipping supplies.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hope you get some swag!

I attended the eBay Open preview in Chicago. I was handed my gift card as soon as I walked in the door, even before I got my credential and lanyard. (I arrived late. Who schedules an event to start at 5:00 p.m. on the near west side of Chicago in the height of the rush hour? I should have started out much earlier. Well, that's on me.)

Total swag haul was notably higher than their last in-person event here on way back in 2019 (that one was held on 9/11, an odd choice of date), a few months before Covid and the world fell apart. In 2019 we were issued a cloth bookbag or carrying bag containing a sealed assortment of shipping supplies in an opaque plastic bag. Attendance was apparently less than anticipated, as I found them double-stuffing the bags with another pack of shipping supplies as I was leaving. (I still have mine in my basement someplace.)

This year they upped their game. In addition to the gift card, we were presented with a rather decent backpack (with eBay logo embroidered on the top), folded inside of which was a huge woven-reinforced carrying bag (also with logo) apparently intended for carrying all your shipping to the post office. At the opening dog-and-pony show, every chair had a large-ish spiral-bound notepad, with pen included in a little side sleeve-holder for taking notes. Logo here, logo there, everything stationary was branded with a logo. I was careful to not remain in one location for too long in case someone with a tattoo needle showed up.

Finally, everyone was free to choose a small succulent plant from a large number available, each of which came in its own little official eBay ceramic pot. We have handed this over to our daughter for on-going care. Google Image Search informs me that this is probably an Echeveria Liesel, and his name is Bob:

Bob was carsick on the way home; I didn't notice he'd fallen over at a stoplight and got the car seat all soaked with water, but he has recovered nicely and sends his regards.

Definitely DONT be using them to purchase a car being sold for gift cards and sympathy on FB marketplace😉

Wow, that is an awesome haul for the in-person event. Terrific stuff !!! I'm jealous.

Sorry to hear that Bob the Succulent wasn't feeling well.

One $25 gift card won't get me very far towards a sob story, fake car. But, I still won't risk it if I do get a card.  😆

The Philly event was full before I tried to register.  It sounds like it was fun.

I attended all 3 days of the virtual event (cheap coffee, clean restroom) and didn’t get the end of day email on Day One. I did send in survey for the next two days.  They also said they’d be sending out gift cards for the trivia.

Let’s see if I get any swag. I already have a hat.
