EBAY forgetting how it became large and successful just a quick note that they didnt get that way by micromanaging sellers. In fact the opposite is true. EBAY was in its prime when sellers had more options and choices and control over sales not less control. They also had less competition and less fees. Thats what grew EBAY. What is making them shrink is the opposite.

@tev4allwrote:The stock has doubled since the paypal split.
Please supply a link.
at the time of split ebay was around $34-$35 a share.
IT is today at IT's highest point since the split and is still short of doubling.
Paypal on the other hand is double the beginning price and has been for the past 5 months .
That $34-35 included the value of PayPal. When they split, stockholders got one share of PayPal for every share of eBay they owned. Naturally, the eBay share wasn't worth as much when the split occurred, but the two shares together were worth as much or more. eBay's current price is about 55% higher than what it was immediately after the split, when the market determined its value without PayPal (around $28/share). So no, not double.
You need to compare apples to apples.

Another newer poster who's post emulates someone we haven't seen in a while who use to also stir the pot. I believe it's a violation to circumvent a vacation.

@professor-twrote:
I will disparage any group of sellers whose government allows them to bypass the rules the rest of us must follow. Ask anyone who has faced trying to sell new merchandise or trademarked designer goods what kind of competition they're getting from the Chinese sellers.
- So you just disparage the international sellers and not their government?
- They are just making a living following the rules they have in place.
- I think that makes them just like you?
What does trademarked designer goods have to do with the title of this thread - EBAY forgetting how it became large and successful?

The ignore button is on the offending poster's profile page.

The ignore button only blocks private messages. It doesn't screen out that person's posts, as it did back in the old days (LiveWorld?).
Yep. That was a really nice feature.
