EBAY Store Front

Is it profitable to have an EBAY store front?

Thanks

EBAY Store Front

It can be, having an eBay store may lower your overall fees, may help you organize your listings to make it easier for buyers, may provide some features you can use that are only available to those with stores.

For some sellers having a store will do none of those things and be less profitable.

It's like owning a car that you never drive, it costs money with no benefit while your next door neighbor has a similar car and uses it a lot to make money or save money.

Stores were originally designed for sellers with a lot of repetitive listings or many slow moving listings.

They were a labour saver.

You get 50 free listings monthly without a Store.

But listing #51 will cost you 35c.

A mini-store costs $7.95 and gives you 100 "free" listings. If you use them all each one costs you $0.079c.  If you only use 75, each costs you a dime.

A Basic Store cost $24.95 a month and gives you 250 "free" listings. (I'm told this has been increased to 350, but I don't know is that is permanent or a short term promotion.)

In addition, you get a slightly lower FVF in some categories. (My books have a 9,1% FVF)

If you sell a variety of products, being able to sort them into categories is a useful feature.

Follow the money.

You do NOT get a boost in Search.

For my handmade items, a store is the only way to go.  I depend on buyers loading up the cart from more than one listing and the best way to accommodate them is by having a store.
