EBAY RIPPED ME OFF!!!

I sold 3 items with buyer purchase shipping label. Ebay kept both our shipping purchase and never refunded our shipping cost. After talking to supervisor they first said I was making out when I was losing money on the shipping. After my last shipment comes I am deleting ebay and I am reporting to Better Business Bureau.

 They rip off both the seller and the buyer on shipping cost plus they charge monthly on top of that. They are not reimbursing any seller their shipping cost after the buyer paid for shipping. After years of being a buyer and seller on ebay. This is the end for me.  Seller and buyer both pay for shipping and the seller doesnt not get reimbursed.

Ebay customer service is a waste of time.  They have no formal training and their focus is to tell you what you want to hear and give you all the wrong answers to get you off the phone as quickly as possible.

These are credible US CS agents who actually work for Ebay.  Many positive outcomes have been posted on these boards with their ability to help.  Sorry for your experience.  Good luck.

The buyer pays you for the shipping which will show up in your payment details.  You then pay for the shipping.

Yes! they are not honest!  Now I know why ebay stock is so lower than amazon.  Selling cost is 12.9% near 13%! this is RIP-OFF!  I won't sell anything through xxx ebay xxx!

Amazon fees are 15% plus $1 plus $1.80 if you sell books.  If Ebay is a rip off, Amazon is a gargantuan rip off.

Amazon's stock is higher because   Amazon actually sells things and Amazon has interests outside of third party marketplaces like web hosting, actual stores, delivery services and heaven knows what else.  All Ebay does is rent space for people to list stuff for sale.

It's like comparing stop signs to fire trucks.  Both are red - that's where the similarity ends.

I do not understand what is going on here, when you sell something all of the shipping charges go to the seller, they then use that money to buy shipping.

Original post is over three months old.  Let's hope the OP has learned better by now.

But, just in case he hasn't, would recommend that he learn a little more about selling and fees by some remedial reading.

The very same thing just happened to me - I ordered a heavy item and the seller didn't send it so then i cancelled the order because they were taking too long to send it. Then I was reimbursed the cost of the item  plus the tax  BUT NOT THE SHIPPING! Over NINETY EIGHT DOLLARS in shipping - NOT REFUNDED!

They ripped me off too. A buyer said it wasn't the item in the photo. I said he had buyer's remorse. It was the only jersey I had like that and owned it for almost 30 years. It was lockdown and I had no actual address because they let all those people out of jails so I left the address where I was at. I instructed the lying buyer of the temporary address I was at and to ship there, told eBay as well, as I was using a family address over 3 hours away. Both ignored me and he sent to the family address in which I could not get to especially with covid. The family did a return to sender for  whatever reason but the package remained in limbo as I tried to have the local post office retrieve it. It ended back with the buyer. The buyer called me  thief and said he would keep the jersey for free in an ebay message. Because of "covid," I couldn't call ebay, only text or email. Was able to talk to a rep at times though. No one assisted me. I spoke with a rep once a month after that for what would take an hour or two each time and they just kept saying case is closed. I tried going through the police department where the buyer lives and tried to file a civil suit. The buyer even changed his name and account on ebay. Ebay won't do anything to help!

Yes and I think they have gone up on the fees lately. Also I believe they figure their fees on the total with shipping and taxes included rather than the amount the item sold for.
