There are options to contacting CS. If you don't have success with one, try another.
There is seller protection, but without knowing what you are specifically referring to, there is no way to help you. If you give us more information, it is highly likely that we can help you here. So give us the details and we will help.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

If you had or are having issues with a transaction, the chances of eBay sorting it out for you are slim to none.
The selling and return policies are laid out already to align with the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
If you care to provide details, members here can assist in sorting it out or point you in the correct direction.

Won't argue your points. There is much more knowledge and experience here, anyway. Would you care to expand?

I had a problem yesterday. I wanted a callback. It said the wait time was 26 minutes. They called me back as promised and fixed the problem while I was on the phone. Yes, they had a foreign accent but I had no problem understanding them.

Sellers are a nickel for a dozen.
Buyers are what matters for any online selling venue.
Why not just go ahead and elaborate on exactly what transpired with your transaction?

It is now obvious.
There are no exceptions to the rules and punishments.
There is no seller protection for a failure by the carrier YOU chose.
Your FB issues do not seem out of policy and worthy of removal.
You had some bad luck or failed to pack properly.

Sounds like the issue you have is with USPS and FedEx... not Ebay
When the shipments were lost, did you refund your buyers and file insurance claims with the carriers to get reimbursed?

I encourage you to go and look at your Seller Dashboard for more information.
https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard?region=US
For each section that creates Defects there is a down arrow on the far right. Click on that and get your details so you can actually figure out what caused your Seller Status change as it wasn't late shipments.
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-policies/seller-standards-policy?id=4347
Minimum requirements
A high late shipment rate on its own won't cause your account to be evaluated as Below Standard, but a low rate is required for Top Rated status.
We may be able to help you, but we first have to identify what the actual problem is.

When buyers do not receive their purchases, the seller is always responsible and that will never change.
Some sellers are more of the mold for other venues. If you want to get out of eBay seller rating purgatory, do not make any more mistakes. Pack and Ship so the items make it to the buyers.
Take care of all return and item not received cases yourself without eBay intervention. Do not cancel any sales. If you can do that, the defects will fall off over time and your account moves back to above standard.
One or two more seller defects and you might be done with eBay permanently. Good luck.
Addendum: don't waste your time contacting eBay, they won't remove those defects.

Nice catch!
