Hello everyone, I'm new on ebay and I would like to start dropshipping. I have multiple questions. First, when we list an item, what type of shipping should I choose ? When I want to ship the item to the buyer from Amazon for example, what do I do to inform the seller that I dropship ?

Finding a reliable source is one of the more difficult aspects...... You need one that will be able to maintain inventory and ship promptly AND one that does not supply 400 others on ebay ........ but before doing that, if you've never sold on Ebay, I suggest you sell a few things around the house.......that way you will learn about shipping.......doing an listing etc.
Find out if you like doing it before jumping in with 4 feet.

I second what @dhbookds & @no-plain-white-envelopes said. Before you set up your store and/or items for sale, read the selling board, shipping & return boards to kind of get a handle on how it works here. I consider myself an experienced seller, but with the changes here since I basically stopped selling here have changed.
Good luck and happy selling (hopefully)!

You should read the boards for awhile before attempting to sell. I read the boards for 6 months before I tried to sell. That was in 2006. Things are a lot different now than when I was getting started. I will say that dropshipping from AZ makes some buyers very cranky. Also, if you are planning to use your Prime membership for shipping, I would suggest a rethink on that. Do you know that your funds will be held when you first start and you may have listing limits? There is a lot to learn.

Selling items you don't have in your posession is begging for trouble. You are begging to get booted from Ebay and possibly Amazon as using them to drop ship is a violation of your Prime membership.

The OP never mentioned anything about Prime or having Prime, just that Amazon is one of the sites they are considering dropshipping from.

Just don't do it.
If you find something you think you might want to sell, order one to be sent to your house. Check it out. Try it for quality and usability. If you like it, order a few more to be sent to your house. Once you have them THEN list them for sale here.

Most dropshippers fail within a very short while. Get ready for the negs and the loss of your selling privileges (possibility for life). You may lose your account on The River as well depending on a number of factors.

Morning,
Why not try purchasing first from about 20 drop shippers?
After that you will have a good idea why most here will not recommend it.

@midohioimports That's old information. Amazon opened up Prime for 3P sellers 2 years ago.
Amazon doesn't do anything about 3P sellers using prime, anyway.
As long as a seller gets the item to the buyer in the time in the listing, eBay is NEVER going to have a problem with dropshippers. eBay's goal for sellers is to make sales...

I wouldn't recommend dropshipping to my own worst enemy.
No, wait, actually I would... ![]()
