Drop shipping?

I am a TRS and long time seller. Right now am selling herb plants and have had several sales where the buyer wants them shipped to another person & address. They also ask that I don't include any notes or invoices in the package. This sounds to me like drop shipping. I have shipped them but, as always, have included my biz card with a little thank you note hand written on the reverse side. Since these are beautiful & sometimes fairly rare maturing plants I deserve credit! LOL  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Your "credit" is that you get paid.

Could be drop shipping,. could be a gift, what does it matter? You listed them to make a sale and earn money not get some sort of "credit" from somebody who might not care one bit where it came from.

I have no issues with dropshippers but they have to change the address to the correct address before they purchase.  Most of the professional dropshippers do. It is a no brainer for them. They know the drill. 

Not including a packing slip is no problem. They can purchase from me all day long.

How do you know they aren't shipping to a friend as a gift? The buyer needs to add the person they want shipped to their ship to list before they pay. Besides if that was the case you are putting forth, you got your price, do as requested and ship to address on the order. 

Have you checked the buyer to see if they are reselling or just guessing? I really don't see plants as an item someone would buy yours to cover their sale. 

Feedback is not required; you get a sale and will show in your sold listings. How much more credit do you need?

I seriously doubt that they were gifts and I agree with wanting the sale.......that is why I sent them as requested. Besides, my card with care note in the package may give me the sale next time they buy. I just question if they were drop shipped since that seems to be frowned on by eBay.

Could be drop shipped items or retail arbitrage if your items are less than anyone else's.

@akkiakwe I believe drop shipping is allowed, but even if it were not that has nothing to do with you as the seller in these cases. You listed your plants in order to sell them and you have. Someone purchased from you and you completed the transaction. What the buyer does with them afterwards is of no concern to you whatsoever.

If they are drop shipping, gifting to a friend, or claiming they made the plants themselves- what is that to you? You got the sale so that should be the end of it on your part. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just not understanding the point of your posts, plus you asked for thoughts.

Also, the buyer specifically asked you NOT to include any notes or invoices, yet you choose to defy that and do so. You are now risking a negative feedback comment because you aren't following your customer's simple request and doing so purposely. Best of luck to you....

When I was selling some seeds a few years ago, I had a member using me to dropship the seeds and they requested that I didn't include any notes or packing slip.

I didn't change the way I shipped, if they didn't want that stuff included, they can ship it to themselves, then ship to their customers.

If they contact you first and let you know what they plan on doing, that would be different. But to just tell me that I have to change the way I ship, that isn't going to work.

There is nothing wrong or against the rules with any buyer who wants his purchase shipped elsewhere.

The main issue is that the buyer needs to change the shipping address when he pays, not contact the seller afterwards with a different name and/or address.  From your message, unable to tell when this change was requested.

You should not "change shipping address" (only customer can change "ship to" address).    Customer can file claim "did not receive item" and you will get stuck having to "give refund" (unless you have tracking proving it was shipped to original address).

You see, this is a great response because to this I say back- to each his own. I'm here to sell my items. I want the money. I WISH people would use me to drop ship items because it guarantees me sales. I want your money, I want the sale, I want another transaction. I couldn't care less if you ask me to stand on my head and do a little dance before I ship the package, as long as you pay me. I am here for the mullah, the dinero, the coins, the Plata!! Just buy my items please....
