Does eBay cycle small seller visibility?

So I am a small seller - I sell books, perhaps 10-15 a month. I send out a monthly newsletter to my email base around the beginning of the month, which usually generates a certain amount of interest, but then things seem to go dark for a couple of weeks, after which things pick up again. This happens regularly. For example, this month, February, I sent out my newsletter at the beginning of the month, and sold about 10 books. Then nothing happened for two weeks, until today (Feb 18) when I suddenly sold 4 books in quick succession, all from non-mailing list customers. This happens quite often, but I don't understand why. Anyone got any ideas?

Because you got lucky the first week of the month, and then again today.  You said you sell 10-15 a month, and if my math is correct, that's right where you're at, with 10 days to go in the month.  So, what's the problem?

Do sales vary day/day wk/ wk Month/month...........yes.   If the newsletter works, try it twice a month..........look for more ways to bring people to you......social media, etc. 

That said......at $2.99-5.99 selling prices and $4-5 shipping.  Be sure to figure your profits to see if it's all worthwhile......

Starting around November i sell for 3 or 4 days then nothing for 5 days or so, rinse and repeat.

Our items are not seen simple as that. Good luck.
