Does blocking a buyer block them from messaging you?

I blocked a buyer a little while back and this morning got an unsolicited offer message from him under a different user ID. I blocked that ID and using unusual (for me) restraint I haven't messaged him back

Just wondering, since I haven't engaged with him by returning his message will that block him from sending any further messages to me?

Make sure you block them from contacting you via the ask questions on your listings.

Hey @zero29zero ! Just as @fashunu4eeuh and @janet9988 have mentioned and shown you want to make sure that you have your buyer requirements set up top your liking and also add the usernames to your blocked list.

Keep in mind that the communication block described in this thread has very limited functionality. 

1. Buyers who have had a recent transaction with you can continue to send messages after the block is in place.
2. Buyers to whom you have replied can continue to send you messages after the block is in place.
3. Buyers can still contact you through your My eBay profile page on the marketing platform--the block doesn't work for messages sent through that page, even with the block in place.
4. Buyers can still contact you through your feedback page o the marketing platform--the block doesn't work for messages sent through that page, even with the block in place.

You apparently have not been involved in a transaction with this person, nor have you replied to him/her; however, if the member is determined, s/he can still contact you via #3 and/or #4 above. So, even though a solution has been selected for this thread, it does not include the full picture regarding the blocking communication from another member. The solution is fine as far as it goes, but, IMO, it is incomplete.
