Does a modest handling fee get added into the shipping or sold listing amount?
Thanks

Here is an example, I didn't have time to produce it on the previous post so my apologies for posting again. This item was calculated shipping and I had a $1 handling fee. It doesn't show even though I fully customized the packing slip and order receipt. It is included in the shipping cost paid by the buyer and not broken down separately.
In answer to the OP, if you want a handling fee you need to manually enter it into your listing. As far as I can tell and by what I've shown, the buyer will not know unless you put the price of shipping on the label.
Finally, handling fees can only be applied to listings with calculated costs, not fixed shipping costs.

I suggest you add it to your asking price.
Many buyers compare the postage cost printed on the shipping label to what they were charged for shipping at time of purchase. Many don't understand handling fees so they become outraged if they were charged $3 for shipping but the shipping label shows you paid $2 for postage.
Offering free shipping allows you to roll all expenses into one Buy It Now price which makes it a non-issue for buyers.

Doesn't the eBay packing slip now have a line item showing Handling fee charged?
Some buyers may get rowdy when they see the break down on their packing slip: Price, Shipping, Sales Tax then another charge for Handling.

No. Neither the packing slip nor the order receipt show this information. Even if you customize both, you cannot get it to show on either.

Handling fees are added to the calculated postage amounts for buyers to pay.

Have NEVER shown my label shipping costs on my shipping label. One has to select the option to do so or not.
If one selects calculated shipping they can add a handling charge.
I for one state my shipping & handling charge as a single price no matter where I ship to within the US & US Protectorates and I ship only via USPS No one has busted me yet on my shipping charges. BTW I live in GA and 45% of my shipments go to the Western Region state and don't do 'free shipping" and never supplied a packing slip.

Thanks for the info.
I wasn't sure, that's why I posted it as a question.
I shipped 14 orders this morning but didn't pay much attention to the packing slips - other than making sure they went into the right package 🙂

It is added to the shipping but not a wise idea. If you want to cover shipping costs you should either raise your selling price, or over inflate the size or weight of the package for listing purposes only. Depending on what you are selling, this may not be possible. Proper packaging and quality materials are a cost of doing business the right way. Your focus should be on lowering those costs without collecting a handling fee or playing games with package weights and sizes or it can make it very hard to compete with others selling the same items.
