With all the reports of sales just stopping for sellers cold turkey (yes the war, yes the economy, yes gas prices etc)- did anyone ever figure out the real reason that sales tank on this platform after they do even semi major changes or updates? After 20 years of data- It is a fact that sales plummet for weeks or months after they change thing and slowly build back. It has nothing to do with the above mentioned world conditions.

Could it be that the search relies so heavily on over complicated Artificial Intelligence and learning software that is all the sudden "confused" by the change?- like "where did all my categories go?".

Does the system simply break?

There has to be a logical reason behind the obvious lack of views and impressions and sales. I never noticed any major decline in sales on other platforms when they update.- is it just ebay programming?

I have about 50 saved searched that I run every couple days.

All of those saved searches work just fine and return basically the same results they always have.

I haven't noticed any lack of views. I've noticed FEWER views now that they're distinguishing between bot views and actual views by a person, but that is a good thing because it gives me a better idea of how many real live people are looking at my things versus bots that are just crawling to index stuff.

This week and weekend we have been getting sales and about as normal as always, perhaps a bit slow but not catastrophic. I would not worry about the views being changed. I think the whole thing with them just allowing all those views to accumulate was just useless. Now, you can really see how a listing in general is doing as far as interest.
