Buyers always know what the shipping will cost. Sellers are required to show the shipping cost in their listings (unless it's Free os local pickup only). Buyers see a specific shipping cost without knowing whether the seller set it up as flat or calculated.

When a seller sets up a listing with calculated shipping, the listing automatically shows the cost to ship from the seller's location to the buyer's.
The buyer cannot even easily tell whether the postage cost shown is a flat cost or the calculated cost; they'd have to go to the "Shipping and handling" tab and enter a different ZIP Code, to see if the shipping cost changes.

Personally, as a buyer I would like to know the shipping cost along with item cost when I buy, so yes, I like calculated shipping for most of the things I buy.
Or are you asking whether we would like to see Free shipping (HaHa) or calculated shipping?

As a buyer I know I like calculated shipping and yes the buyer sees the cost of shipping to their location on the listing in the shipping section of the listing.

Only you know it's calculated shipping.
The buyer sees the exact cost shipping they will pay.

I use flat rate shipping in all my listings so all buyers know what shipping will cost and it's the same price for the entire US.

There are buyers who like "free" shipping so much that they are willing to pay more to get it

Buyers in close shipping zones really like calculated shipping costs,
Calculated shipping will give you a much better total cost to buyers in nearby zones than flat or "free" shipping and no need to reprice everything with the unstable shipping costs

Search any random listing and you will find out the item ALWAYS shows the ship cost. I do not understand your question.

Buyers don't know (can't see) if you're using calculated shipping -or- flat rate shipping.
All they see is the item price and the shipping price.
So "what buyers like" doesn't matter.

Tks. you answered my question.
