Do I accept return for this?

This is a first … had INAD opened for wrong measurements … but jeans buyer shows in photo are NOT what she bought. Buyer already received/left positive feedback for me a week and half-ish ago for jeans she did buy. I’ve tried reaching out to her about this with no response. Do I just okay this return (I have 30 day free returns) and just expect to get back this pair of jeans that were not mine in the first place?!? I’m guessing yes … pretty crappy to get INAD for someone else’s item! 😩

Yeah … I accepted it … as I know I really don’t have a choice in this matter. Expecting to receive item buyer photographed that wasn’t mine. Oh, yay! 🙄

If you get a "faulty return" come back for more advice.   

Not to be a "debbie downer" but eBay has forced returns/refunds for items not even close to what you sold.  i.e.  you sold a small anvil... buyer files a SNAD stating the "Sweater had holes" .... you are on the hook even though your product was the anvil.   

The whole system is automated and added comments by either party don't count. It is run by an AI bot who is VERY STUPID and does not seem to LEARN over time. Your pictures, description or tenure on the site means NADA.   CS can not intervene.  Basically, under the bot format whatever the buyer claims about the item becomes fact, even though it is an obvious mistake or lie.

I worded things poorly as I know INAD is an automatic return, no matter what I say/she photographed, etc. … just caught off guard by this … maybe I’ve just been lucky, but in almost 9 years I’ve only ever received a couple INADs and yes, they were my fault … this though? Yeah, absolutely no. Frustrating.

LOL... my "ebay" day was not much better and I am a freaking buyer who was registered in 1998. I was suddenly this morning  prevented from  placing bids or buying since they couldn't verify my account.   Six hours later it was finally fixed, at least for today....I feel bad for my sellers.  

I don't know about a string of bad "Mondays"  My stupid issues are always intermittent and a surprise.   I used to pray for at least a five day span where nothing miserable happened.

Its possible the buyer mixed you up with another seller, especially if they had already given feedback.

I have had this happen to me before.  But fortunately the buyer realized their mistake after I inquired about the problem.

That was my first thought. I reached out to her about this, asking if maybe she had me mixed up with another seller … have yet to hear back. Hopefully this is the case, that she realizes it, and I don’t receive someone else’s jeans back?!? Time will tell … 🤔

I'm one to say that if an item sells once, it will again. YOUR Silver jeans would have. Those L.E.I.s... not feeling it. Bummer. 😑 Hopeful that you get the item you SOLD back! 🤞

I had a buyer do the same thing to me. She got me for INAD for a pair of shoes. She send me a picture of a shoe and it was not the one I sold her. I contacted her and sure enough she apologized she got the wrong seller. I had to ride out the time until ebay closed the return.  The ding on my metric stayed for a year.

Yes.  These are counted when they are filed.  What happens afterwards is of no consequence.  Should you decide to refund the buyer and let them keep it for free, it will still be there.... Sorry.   It is not supposed to "hurt" you because you are compared by an algorithm to your "peers" (undefined and unknown).  Unfortunately, if you happen to be the only seller of such and you are in a group of ONE...  Nevermind, you get the idea.  If you accept the return, and refund the buyer when a different product is delivered to you, the metric ding is still yours...simply because it happened.
