I sold my item new 6 months ago on eBay and now the seller wants a full refund as he says it doesn't match the description ...
I believe he has been using the item for 6 months and now wants his full monies back ..
How can I dispute this

Is the buyer doing a chargeback on his credit card?

EBAY Money Back Guarantee has a time limit (6 months is too late to make a claim). However, some credit card company allows customer to "reverse charges" 6 months after transaction occurred.

I would not even respond unless or until the buyer actually files a dispute, which is questionable at this point. He may be beyond the eBay deadlines but not his own bank or credit card providers' deadlines. You can ignore a plain old email request if that's what you're looking at.
How exactly is he asking for a refund? Is it a direct message from the buyer, or some kind of notification from eBay?

That is way too long for a buyer to decide something is wrong with an item. The money back guarantee is 30 days and they have 60 days to leave feedback, if you want to help him out you can, but otherwise you can just ignore him, he can't file a claim or leave negative feedback. If you think he is trying to scam you, you can also block him from buying from you in the future > https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock?

Buyers are doing things not possible in online and B&M retail here on eBay and eBay is doing nothing about it. I can’t buy a bag from LV and do a chargeback 6 months later because the zipper broke. On eBay you can buy an expensive pair of sneakers and do a chargeback 6 months later stating the outsoles are wearing out faster than they should or the laces are fraying or other nonsense. It’s becoming an epidemic, buyers are using their credit cards as warranties for anything they buy for all occurrences. It’s completely absurd.

Is this a formal claim or just an email?
Reach out to e-Bay on social media to report this Buyer. Transaction is too old for you to do it.

I believe the system allows the buyer to open a claim but because it's beyond the 30 time limit, the seller can deny it and ebay stands behind the seller (supposedly).
But again, though it's wrong, c.c. and PP will allow 180 days for disputes, though I'd fight that too!

EBay have stopped my money and are going ahead with the dispute !!
They are asking for evidence that it does not match the description that he purchased ..which is crazy as it was brand new and sealed

Yes it is disgustingly absurd. No where else can this be a problem. If this were a regular occurrence for people on here you would go bankrupt in less than a year. If this is a CC chargeback fight it anyway the best you can.

Yep, CC chargeback is like that and completely disgusting and needs to be regulated.
