Disgusted with EBAY and it's unfair practices of seller causing me illness.

I with eBay as a buyer/seller for over 20 years. I have 1155 feedback and never had a Negative one. 

I used to sell when I was poor. Then I buy more often than sell. Last month I sold a fishing camera.

I listed all the parts that will be shipped and took a picture of the package.

Got a false feedback which is the first Negative amount of 1155 feedback in the past 20 years with eBay. 

 

I sent messages to the buyer and try to find out what went wrong. No reply.

Called eBay 6 times and spent 4-5 hours (SR number.  1-488628257955)

This instance still going nowhere.

 

This instance made me ill as I believed in god and I have not done anything wrong. 

eBay support keeps telling me is ok no to worry I can have many Negative feedbacks. 

That is not the point. As a seller, I need a fair review. 

2nd the eBay system only allows me to leave Positive feedback. 
There is no Neutral or Negative selection which is unfair trading as I can't find this in any policies. 

 

Agent after agent lies after lie repeating the same thing. Is ok to have Negative feedback.

Is NOT OK for me to be accursed when I did not do anything wrong. 

 

I am waiting for they feedback team to  reply again for the 3rd time. 
Hopely is a real human to take a look of the case and get back to me. 

But if is machine auto-generated reply again I will do the following. 

 

1 . I am filing a BBB official complaint against to eBay for this.

At https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/san-jose/profile/online-shopping/ebay-inc-1216-204015/complaints.

 

2. I will follow up here with the case number. 

 

3. Reaching on on the following social media platform and might be someone has same experience with me.

If you have any experience on suing ebay or the buyer please share.
I would think is impossible. But I am sick due to those calls and email to the buyer without reply. 

 

Each time I call eBay they will suggest reaching out to the buyer and I did by email.

I have the buyer's address but I would not contact to buyer outside eBay as that is their policy. 

Button line I followed eBay policy but they didn't give me a fair review of the feedback.

In addition, the platform does not allow sellers to give fair feedback to buyers by not providing

First thank you for your reply. As you said,

I put what will be shipped. I tested it and is working as it should as a used item.

I shipped what was on the listing, nothing more and nothing less.

Buyer assumptions are different than what is received which is not on the listing.

The buyer assumed something was not on the listing and not in the package.

And this still is my fault.  I just think this can be handled differently.

Buyer can ask me questions first about his assumption like if all parts are there then I can do Google search to find what is included in the package.

 

Or I can add something like:

"What you see is what you received. Please kindly do not assume anything else will be included. "

 

"This is a business so do not allow religion to enter into this (and definitely do not let it affect your health - just walk away from Ebay for a while if that is happening)." I am sorry I didn't intend to religion into this.  and think you for your kind words.

I think one of the reply had the point as the buyer assumptions are different than what is received which is not on the listing. 

 

Basically I listed a fishfinder not been used anymore.

I listed what will be shipped and sell it as used which is working as I tested before shipping.

 

Buyer assumptions are different than what is received which is not on the listing.

Buyer assume ALL the parts are there but for me, I don't even know what is missing.

I can't read buyer's minds to know their assumptions.  

The buyer assumed something was not on the listing and not in the package.

And this still is my fault.  I just think this can be handled differently.

Buyer can ask me questions first about his assumption like if all parts are there then I can do Google search to find what is included in the package.

 

Or I can add something like:

"What you see is what you received. Please kindly do not assume anything else will be included. "

But you did NOT list what would be shipped. You had barely two sentences of description and NO list of parts. There were numerous photos but nothing that spelled out what was included or the fact that two parts of the set had gone missing.

Sorry but the time to research your item was before you listed it. Waiting for someone else to ask you that question later on (if they ask at all before purchasing) may be too late.

 

Generally when you are selling one basic thing you know what you need to describe about it: color - size - model number - ect. But if it is a set of parts in a box and has been used then you need to do some basic accounting about what is there vs. what might be missing. Unfortunately this is what can happen otherwise as a result.

 

This is not a mistake that you are likely to make again so just ride it out and it will recede into the distance soon enough.

After reading through I tried to answer some of the post then I realized it was my fault.

 

Is a business at the moment I sell. I should have made the listing more clear. 

Like I should say "Kindly review the listing and what is in the listing is what you will receive in the package."

 

One of the responses had the point, 

It's Christmas I should be thankful for my family, friends, and my life.

Question I have- It appears that this all transpired almost 2 months ago. Why would you wait until Christmas Eve to Complain about it?

I did not wait. I did not notice the feedback until Dec 6 when I started calling eBay.

 

eBay told me that they would look into it and get back to me over and over until I called them on Monday to follow up.  I provided the eBay SR reference number that has all the history of the call. If you work in eBay you can refer to it and see the details.  The eBay support reading their note told me she saw there was note for follow but no update after that so she will try to follow up again and get back to me. That is when I got sick of it and created the post here.  I am not intended to complain I am seeking help on what to do. I said would fill BBB then here in the community then keep going until to get a fair review. 

 

BUT after reading the responses I gave up.

The problem was, there wasn't anything in your listing stating exactly what the buyer would receive.

The time wasted was calling in for help as its a frustrating useless go around. The phone reps basically just stall or tell you what you want to hear. What ever it takes to get you off the phone. I doubt they even can change anything even if they really wanted to.  I remember getting my first negative and the hurt of receiving it. Its not pleasurable at all. Just quit looking at it and working so hard to get rid of it. The more work you put into it the worse it feels, It can become a mental nightmare that will control other events in your life. We can never make everybody happy. There are some people out there who just aren't happy unless they complain. You had a amazing streak with so many years of being perfect. Think of the positive in that. You know your doing a good job and your being upset shows you care. But if the person won't answer you then it is what it is. You tried. Just move on as it isn't going to be there forever. Don't take it personally. Feedback is nothing more than opinions. Everybody has a different one. I know its easier for me to say this as its not me going thru it. But I've been there and the worst thing is when you let it consume all your energy. No one has the right to blow your day but you. So from this moment forward forget about it, move on and don't blow any more days. Its all on you now.

Many years ago, when we had a small business, BBB would periodically call us wanting us to become a member of BBB.  The dues were something like $500 or $600 a year, not sure now.  They said if we were members, they would recommend us to anyone contacting them for recommendations of the business we were in (and the lady indicated they get a lot of those calls).   I asked which other businesses like ours were members and hesitantly, she told me the name of only one, a business with the worst reputation, and poorest rating, in this area.  I asked her, "you mean you would recommend them even though they have a horrible reputation just because they belong to BBB, but you would not recommend us (with a stellar reputation) or anyone else in our business because we are not members?"  Her answer was yes.  I later talked with a friend who also has a similar business and she told me the same thing, that they told her that only members get recommended and nothing else counts.  Since that time, I have had nothing to do with BBB.  I have no faith in anything they do and as far as reporting someone, as far as I'm concerned, it's meaningless.
