Discrimination/harassment

I posted a Playgirl magazine for sale on my site play girl is one of the magazines specifically listed as a permissible publication with Ebay. My account seems to be flagged by someone who keeps harassing me because they’ve suspended my account because of these postings multiple times blatant discrimination blatant harassment. One supervisor approved my listings and someone else disapproves inconsistency drives people crazy. And the fact that I requested a supervisor to call me multiple times about this issue and got completely ignored for the last several days.

We need more info.

What was the reason they pulled your listing?

And was this supervisor a customer service rep on the phone?

If you kept trying to relist the item and it kept getting pulled, that would explain the suspension. Be aware that such a thing could affect your other accounts.

All you can do is sell these elsewhere, because you risk having your selling account permanently and irrevocably suspended if you continue to list them here, no matter that they meet guidelines.

Like ALL restricted items on eBay -- OTC drugs, weapons, Black memorabilia, government-issued items, police badges, cosmetics and perfumes, grave goods, you-name-it -- the policy on "adult items" is vague and arbitrary.  It contains eraser language (phrases such as "including but not limited to") so eBay is never at fault for removing any listing. I t is randomly enforced, and if the bots don't get you, reports from offended people will.

I'm not sure how it could be otherwise on a platform with 20M sellers and 1.5B listings on any given day, but it is frustrating as all get-out.

Not that any of those observations helps you, of course.  But as the young like to say, "It is what it is."

Playboy is permissible as long as it doesnt show nudity or graphic sexual content. I dont get the blatant discrimination though...You are just on Ebays radar now because of the suspensions. Takes more than one report to get listings pulled, especially if its done by a competitor.

Hi @jimburg-51

Once you relist an item that's been removed by eBay ... you've opened yourself to increasingly harsher penalties until you are permanently restricted from selling.  It doesn't matter how many CR reps or supervisors tell you the problem has been handled.

PLEASE stop listing the magazine if you want to continue selling on eBay.  The listing has been on a bot's radar since it was first pulled ... and will stay there indefinitely.  List the mag somewhere else.

Cosmetics and Perfumes? Only if they are used , but many listings get overlooked.

I'm not sure what your point is.  I was simply naming some of the categories that have restrictions.  That is one of them.  Sometimes legitimate listings are pulled, and sometimes ones that violate policy are not.  It is the same for every "restricted or prohibited" item in every category on eBay.  The busy bots are just bots, after all.

Believe me, you are not being discriminated against.  Plenty of people have had listings removed in that category.  And not allowed to relist them.

@jimburg-51

It's not discrimination...please.  If others are doing it, they just haven't been caught yet.  Don't relist it or you'll jeopardize your account.  You might want to read up on Ebay's policy concerning adult items:

Happy Selling.

These days no matter the marketplace one simply need ask oneself before listing something, "Would someone find this item objectionable?"  If so, don't list it even if other sellers seem to be selling said item.

I had a listing removed, and I didn't know why, but a message said, it was removed, and to not relist.  So... I called customer service, and they helped me figure it out, because I could not figure out why the item would have been removed.  It was a christmas tree ornament.  A hand blown one.... but I put "mouth blown", and for some reason they said that triggered it.

Stop trying to relist it.  Every time you do and eBay pulls it down is one step closer to a permanent suspension.  Seriously, how much is it worth?  Is it worth the headaches and the chance of never being able to sell here again?  I doubt it.  As others have said, sell it elsewhere.  It isn't worth the risk.

They told me to relist, without using "mouth blown" and I was able to, and it was all fine.  Sometimes getting help early on is the way to short-cut through issues.

Can you supply a link to your statement? If your statement is true, did you put it in the adult category? Was there any form of nudity on the picture in the listing ? There are many restrictions you must conform to and it must conform to each and every one of them. You are not being discriminated against.

I came back to help you out. Put the person's name that is on your listed cards. Someone looking for Michael Jordan cannot find your Michael Jordan without telling them you are selling a Michael Jordan. Do the same with all the others.
