Catching up on feedback and saw a couple of items still say shipped xx-xx-xxxx even though it's been over a week and they should have been delivered. Usually you get the "Out for Delivery" in the morning, then "Tracking Status Not Updated" later which to ME means the driver didn't bother with that delivery scan. Now this morning I see something worse. "Tracking Status Not Updated", is now "Your Package Delivery has Been Delayed" on every single one that wasn't scanned at delivery. From the truck to the mailbox? I know some post offices will scan them delivered before they go out, and if they don't get delivered that day, they usually will the next day. Some of these I am checking are from a week ago, so how will that ever be updated? Oh right, it won't! I don't know which one will make me give up first, eBay or the Post Office!

I've got one from last week ... it's the first time I noticed the change in wording.
I may just initiate a package trace this week to see what happens.

Looks like new wording for the Status not updated message. Timestamp shows it was 14 hours exactly since the last scan which is what used to be the Status not updated message. Hopefully it will get scanned as delivered maybe tomorrow. Give it a day to see what happens. Do NOT contact the buyer.

I wouldn't dream of contacting the buyer LOL ... I know better 🙂
It's a priority mail package ... I will wait until 7 days have passed on the Out for Delivery Scan and then open a "where's my package" inquiry on USPS.com.

I have this showing on a package:
March 9, 2018, 11:39 pm
Your Package Delivery Has Been Delayed
As of March 9, 2018 at 11:39 pm, your package is still on its way. We apologize that it will arrive later than expected.

Out for Delivery
PHILADELPHIA, PA 19123
Since it's going to Philadelphia (snow) could it be delayed due to weather?

Could it be that delivery has been impacted due to the weather? A lot of snow is still falling in places and these Nor'easter's are wrecking havoc in many places.

Here's something really funky ... I signed up for text updates on that tracking number last week, right after I saw it.
I just now got a "Delivered In at Mailbox" notification ... and USPS tracking shows Delivered at 3:20 PM on the 7th ... with absolutely no mention of the "delayed" message, like it never existed.

The PO has probably done one of those worthless - we gotta change something for the sake of changing so we look like we are keeping up with 'progress - changes that ebay loves to make.
Every time I have gotten something that is a shipping delay or other late delivery problem - it has always been to someplace that has natural disasters like fire, flood or storms. I am very sure that 3 feet of water or 2 feet of snow is going to delay mail delivery.

Ayup. The "delayed" message is removed because it's a temporary status, put in as a filler due to the absence of the expected Delivery scan within 14 hours of the Out For Delivery entry. Once that Delivered scan finally shows up, the Delayed message is removed.

This has been happening to me and others; I believe it is an error in the USPS updating system. I get complaints a couple times a month. Then, after a week, poof, they arrive.
