Description Text is Saved in the Text Entry Box, But Not in Live Listing

I have a "Buy it Now" fixed-priced listing with no outstanding offers sent or received.

I am unable to revise the description. When I attempt to revise the description, everything works as expected and I get the "Your listing has been revised" message. However, when I view the live listing, nothing has been changed. When I try again to revise my listing, the description from my last revision has been saved in the Description text entry box.

This has been persistent for about a week. I have tried several different descriptions (including a one-word description) and each description is saved in the text entry box. That is, when I try again to revise my the listing, my last edited description shows up in the text entry box.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I know I can obviously end the listing and start over, but I would rather this not happen again (plus I want similar listings group together by "Time Left").

Could you provide a link to your post? I did a lot of searching and could not find a single post addressing this specific problem. Maybe I miscommunicated what my problem actually is.

When did you post this? Maybe ebay should have corrected the bug by now.

Thanks for the email address, but there is no reason for me to contact ebay as I have found they have zero interest in correcting problems. They have little competition and correcting problems costs money (lower profits). I would rather re-list the item.

I'm having the same problem.  My listings have Times New Roman on them, and I have never used in the 24 years I've been using this site.  When I revise the listing, it's telling me that it's revised, but it's definitely not.  Since the 'preview' function uses the eBay font instead of the one you choose, you can't verify in advance that the listing is screwed up.  It's why most listings look so awful.

It does not sound like you are having the same problem as I. My attempted revisions to the description wording to a specific listing results in absolutely no change. I've even attempted to change a 50 word description to a single word description with no html and no change occurs. My problem has nothing to do with font or other formatting choices.

Maybe Ebay has only a limited choice of fonts. I do not know. I have no interest in changing fonts, but thanks for the information in case I ever want to use a different font. After I sell the 80 items I have listed I hope never to sell on ebay again. I am selling mostly industrial items, so I can not take them to Goodwill.

FYI, I have no interest in finding a solution. It's only occurred with one listing (so far). I'm simply curious if anyone else has seen this bug that Ebay definitely has no interest in correcting.

Is this one of those errors where if you make multiple changes to different fields, all the changes are reflected correctly except for the last field touched?

I seem to remember a similar sounding issue a while back. At that time, the workaround was, after all the changes were made but before finalizing, to touch an additional field, but not make any changes to that last field. Then all the previously changed fields would update correctly.

Sweet! I don't see the ticket has been marked as resolved yet but that's great news if it's working like normal for you again. Thanks for the update @stuff4divas and hopefully all will have descriptions saving again soon. 😊
