Delays in Listing Start Time

Is anybody else out there having delays for items being searched after scheduled listings are supposed start?   I have been delayed last week and again today around 6 hours and it seems to be focused on legal for sale gun parts.   A fishing lure listed was searchable immediately.   I have received statements from E-Bay stating they need to check to see if listings are correct - funny I have been at it for over 10 years.   They are not very transparent as to the real reasons they admit doing it.   To be fair I suggest that E-Bay give sellers that have long delays in listings coming live/searchable, a reduced final value fee.

Re: Delays in Listing Start Time

@westslopect

6 hours isn't bad at all for them to be checking listings in categories that sell "restricted or prohibited" items.

I suspect that they may be cracking down on listings that should never actually see the light of day.  There are always complaints of "why did they end my listing? Others have the same item, blahblah". Instead of checking after it is listed, they are checking before.

Also ... the UA specifies that your items may not be shown immediately ... no recourse there.

When listing an item, you agree to comply with eBay's Listing policies and Selling practices policy and that:

  • You are responsible for the accuracy and content of the listing and item offered
  • Your listing may not be immediately searchable by keyword or category for several hours (or up to 24 hours in some circumstances). eBay can't guarantee exact listing durations
