Hello everyone! I am starting to sell more on eBay trying to learn all the rules and tricks to it and recently ran into a bit of a problem. Yesterday I sold a small LEGO set weighing around 1 oz. I then used a bubble mailer thinking that this would be considered a large envelope and used the eBay shipping calculator to determine that with USPS first class mail I could ship it for around $1.20. When I went to print the shipping label there was no option for a Large Envelope and the cheapest item that I could find was $2.78. If anyone could tell me why this is and what the real definition of a large envelope is it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A large envelope (aka flat)
can not exceed 3/4" thickness.
Can not have a thickness variation of more than 1/4" (can not be lumpy).
Large envelope has to be flexible. ( to process through the sorting machinery)
Labels for a "large envelope" are not done on eBay. Only labels for tracked "packages" can be done..

Bubble mailers with tracking are zone based pricing starting at $2.78. That $1.20 pricing is i believe for flat non tracking mailers.
A lego set for certain is 100% no way to ship for $1.20.

ebay/Paypal only print labels that include TRACKING.
Large envelope (also called a flat) does NOT include tracking. If you want to use this method, you take the envelope to the post office and pay for postage there. If you use a padded envelope, the clerk may classify the package as a first class package (which does include TRACKING) so you end up paying more than for a large envelope.
During tax season, my tax preparer called asking that I send in my documents instead of bringing them in for a face-to-face meeting as in all previous years due to the pandemic. I decided to use a bubble mailer and pay for a large envelope at the post office. The clerk said she had to charge me for a first class package because I used a padded envelope. (I suspect the package was more than 1/4" thick so not a flat).

You have gotten good information about 1st class postage with tracking.
Since you are a new seller, I am going to give some unsolicited advice. Your avatar can be considered quite offensive to many that see it and this might affect your selling ability.

Not sure if that is Pepe, but could be the reasoning.

Hello
Since First Class Mail does not have a tracking code for large envelopes, I would like to ask if I can send a large envelope through First Class Package. My idea is to print a label on the first Class Package and stick it on the envelope.

That's not a good idea. You should repackage your item so that it meets the criteria to be mailed as a package -- either make the envelope rigid, or more than 3/4 inch thick at one point.
USPS has been known to upgrade an envelope to Priority Mail status and deliver it with significant Postage Due when a seller has put a First Class package label on an item that should have been mailed as a letter or flat (AKA Large envelope).
