I'm sure a gazillion people have talked about this already....but I haven't seen much conversation around the idea that taking away the ability to set deadlines on BIN items has ruined sales. What motivation is there for a customer to buy when they think "oh well...I'll just put this in my watches for later...." Creating urgency to make a choice is part of retailing! I think we all probably had better success when we were able to list an item for the number of days we needed to, not this "good til' canceled" mess. And who has time to keep going back ending items and relisting as a "sell similar"?

You are absolutely right !!! Good till canceled actually DEVALUES most antiques and art and one of a kind items .. For new merchandise that you may have multiples of it may be good .. For me I have 100 % lost money with Good till canceled !! You are correct there is no urgency on the part of the buyer ... Pathetic really .. As I only sell antiques and art and have a minimal store and only have so many listings per month it was costing me more in insertion fees but I was good with that as I could list for 5 - 7 days creating urgency .. Those who sell NEW items would not understand !!

As I said, TO ME...it would be a waste of time. I want urgency? I can do the things mentioned. I want to be seen? I can use Promoted Listings, Social Media, etc. I'd rather do that stuff ---and list new listings---than stop and start my existing listings.
To YOU....it's not a waste of time. That's fine. But I've been using GTC since long before it became the only FP duration, and I'm fine with it. We all have different business models.
