Cyber Monday

Do you generally get a boost in sales for Cyber Monday? I wonder if it's mostly for things like new electronics and/or Amazon Prime and big store sites.

I don't remember if I've had an especially good Cyber Monday. Today is good across two sites though, maybe it will be a trend for a while? Wish I had more to list.

I just read that the last  black Friday  yielded 7 billion dollars  in online  sales across the nation . The article reported that   meanwhile brick and mortar  stores  and shopping  malls seen a sharp decline  . In other words  people stayed home  but their money didn't .  Personally my sales are doing very well at the moment.  I'm hopeful  about cyber Monday .  Tulips

Re: Cyber Monday

The media and commerce sites are predicting a record Cyber Monday.  This remains to be seen if that will reach in to ebay sale. I learned long ago that ebay sellers are not the center of the universe, but I guess we'll wait and see...

Amazon is on fire for me right now (books), ebay as usual not so much. But today is Sunday, usually good for sales, and tomorrow is Cyber Monday. Will it put people in the mood to buy books and media? I just listed a ton of like-new Blu-ray movies, would like to see more of those sell.

Results are in. Sales on ebay were just OK over the weekend and below normal Monday.  Amazon was bonkers Sunday and Monday.  On Monday I had probably my biggest sale day ever though it's hard to remember now those misty days of yore a decade and more ago.

The winner is Cyber Monday for me. And I sell clothes. But I don't know if it's just an overall increase per day. We'll see as time passes.

Re: Cyber Monday

I don't know how to copy and paste the graph but my spikes were earlier in November.  Generally I do better when there is a promotion and I list a lot of auctions. My fixed price sales putter along at a lower level.  On Amazon I just came off 4 weeks of much higher sales. This is good because the pressure is off making more for Christmas (nothing I can count on since most of my wares are used).

Re: Cyber Monday

@keziak   No boost for the categories we sell in.  Keep in mind that a number of years ago Cyber Monday supplanted Black Friday for Retailers selling Christmas Gift items ... so I surmise that unless one is selling in categories that are good for gifts there won't be much of a boost.

Re: Cyber Monday

It's hard for me to know what stuff sells to people for gifts, though a lot of my recent sales are for "like new" items.

My biggest month of the year is January, helped by a spike of books bought by students. A friend surmises that people also are using gift cards and cash they got for Christmas.
