So I have been selling on ebay since the beginning and every now and then you get a weird situation that you need to speak with a customer service rep about - I had 2 issues this week.
A buyer filed an item not received for a package in Germany - ebay Germany did not bother to check tracking which showed delivered to customs and the buyer was notified. They took the money out of my paypal account. It took 6 phone calls to get someone that could actually do something, the case was reversed and I would get my refund within 72 hours. That was May 22. Yesterday I get a refund from ebay Germany in Euros! No way in paypal to convert and why would they refund me in a form of money I cannot use. Ebay US seems baffled and I need a supervisor in the appeals department to handle this but there is no phone access to them - so an email was sent and once again I wait.
I had another odd issue today and the people that need to deal with it have no phone access because they are working from home.
We do not have access to the full customer service we are paying for with out ever increasing fees so if we are only getting partial customer service, where are the fee discounts? I understand covid has turned everything upside down - it did that for all of us but now that we are several months into this there is no excuse in my opinion to not have the entire customer service department available when needed. And some things are just really hard to do via email or chat. ALL major companies have people working from home with phone access - it is 2020 - technology for this is not a problem. That is my rant - I should not have to wait a month or longer to get money that never should have been taken from me in the first place, let alone get it in a currency I cannot use. That is useless. Online sales are booming, ebay is busier than ever, ebay is making money, we need customer service access to ALL departments.

Discounts were in the way of 1000's of free listings so you can list,without cost, sell and make more money. Other than that, complaining you know CV19 is what it is, yet you still want more. What you get is what you've been getting. You'll have to accept it.
PS- they have an email system. I used it. It worked. They responded. Problem solved. Talking is way overrated.

It does not help to have more listings without the support that is needed. Complicated issues cannot be solved over email - been through that and the spotty responses each came from a different person - each one had not read the previous email string and nothing got done. They should have phone access at this point to everything that is need - most major companies have gotten it done and ebay is a major company. I have been on ebay since the beginning and rolled with every change they have made, there is no problem expecting to get what you are paying for. I know a ton of people that sell on ebay and with most seller having no resource for new merchandise - 1000's of extra listings help some but will not help many that are struggling to stay afloat.

Funny... I find that c/s phone call strings work this way, too. It never occurred to me that it had anything to do with fees.

All I am saying is we are paying the same fees for less than we have been getting as far as customer service. They should have figured this out by now just like most other companies have. Keep your employees safe but take care of the people that pay your bills and salaries.

If you transfer the Euros to your bank account, they will be converted to $US. Or you can convert the currency within PP. Go to your wallet, click on the 3 dots next to the Euro amount and then click on convert currency.

I agree, I much prefer using customer service via facebook chat. Plus I like the added bonus of having a record of any previous conversations. Many time when I would have to call customer service more than once it would be like Groundhogs day repeating my problem over and over.
