I am having trouble using the new Ebay tool for creating a white background on my iphone. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to fix problems with the edges of an item (i.e. how to bring them back when they are missing or whited out or how to use the eraser tool) Any help or advice that explains the details about how to use any the tools properly would be appreciated.

I don't use my phone for pictures, so can't help you there. My question is is there going to be the same tool for revising pictures on eBay in the way that you can do so now, not just on your phone?

As with most new things eBay rolls out, it's a long way from prime time ready. If you want to see what I mean, search for 392732096680. Then search for 164130147683. They're the same item. Note how "well" it works. Are you really sure you even want to use it?

When making listings it is always best to use your desktop computer. The ebay android app even has wonky problems for buying and selling. Again use your desktop to do listings.

HAHAHAHAHA wow that is rough. Phone cameras leave a lot to desire unfortunately.

This may seem over simplified - but how about taking whatever you are photographing and put it ON A WHITE BACKGROUND before you take the picture. Problem solved.

That one listing wouldn't look good even without the background eraser tool. If the photos are a blurry mess to start the eraser tool can't save them.
If the eraser tool was used on the listing with the red background you'd have much a better result since the photos are not blurry to begin with.
The poster who suggested starting with a white (or light/neutral) background is correct that it will yield better and cleaner results.

The less than desirable photo quality in that example has a lot more to do with the photographer than the camera.

I just tried it, black shoes on a green background and the tool couldn't remove all the background. Trying to clean it up with the brush and eraser on the phone screen with my finger was futile. Until they can make it easier, it's just not worth the trouble.
