I received a listing removal notice message from ebay stating that a "counterfeit" listing had been removed from my store this morning.
I'm a longtime top-rated seller and I don't deal in counterfeit goods. That point aside, the email specifies a unique listing that ended with a sale over 30 days ago with no concerns, so I am not sure how it could be "removed" a month after the sale ((nothing was actually delisted this morning)).
Is this an error message from ebay? It just seems like an odd notice to have show up randomly. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced similar recent errors. Thanks!

Had it happen to me several years ago, item was shipped, delivered, and both parties left positive feedback. Had a good laugh though because they refunded my FVF and removed the feedback. Ouch, that hurt. 😄
Just one of their many AI goofs.

I just had ebay cancel a sale because of fraudulent account. Told to not ship if not already shipped. Problem is, it happened on July 29, almost a month ago!! Way to stay on top of things.....

I got one listing removed today and it's been listed for over 4 weeks. Plus there are over 6,000 of these items listed....why me?

I have gotten the same treatment. Usually a bitter seller will turn you in after they have a bad experience just to feel better about life. I inadvertently listed a few vintage antique out of circulation coins from Cuoba. Have to misspell THAT countries name due to ebay policing everything. So I see seven other sellers listing the same type of coins yet their listings stay up.

Yes, I had one also, nearly a month after the sale. Mine was for a lapel pin with confederate flag. It was called offensive or something like that.
I emailed them but Im sure it was a computer generated email so no response.
I just carry on... 😁

Another one of mine got removed because vintage toilette fragrance was price gouging essential items....I had to laugh over this and chatted with customer service that it was not a toilet...but a fragrance. Plus I would like to buy a toilet for they price of a bottle of fragrance! He was not helpful at all, said I couldn't list it with the word toilette even under the fragrance/perfume category.
I told him if I didn't use the word toilette and instead use the wording perfume or cologne then I was opening myself to a return as "not as described"
My other one was a netsuke that ebay claims was made of ivory, I did not list as being ivory material. Their message said they came to a decision that it is ivory...how do they know without seeing or feeling and who is it that makes these decisions for us without asking?? Oh well...another chat/call session.

I had one removed last month- a t-shirt with a Billie Eilish/Takashi Murakami collaboration design that I purchased new from Uniqlo. They only removed one of about a dozen similar designs I have listed- I never pursued relisting it though (I think Warner Music was the group that reported it). My guess is maybe there are companies who are experiencing a surge in counterfeit items so are actively looking and getting anything they deem suspect removed- then it's up to buyers to prove otherwise.

Look at the bright side - since it sold, and has now been removed by ebay, you shouldn't have to worry about it being mysteriously relisted sometime in the future. 😀

Confederate flag merchandise is not allowed to be sold on eBay, so your message was not in error. And it is offensive.

If I were you, I would contact eBay to see why it was "removed". You may be violating a rule you don't know about. It could be an error, but I would want to know for sure.
