I've bought out a store going out of business that were selling Apple branded AirPod pros. I have tried to list the items twice now but I keep getting a "Counterfeit item policy" notice and my listing is getting taken down. The first time it was my fault I guess. I put up only 1 picture and let the listing go live thinking that I'd add more pictures later but it was taken down. The second time around I put it up with lots of pictures and I even sold two of the items and then again got flagged. How am I supposed to prove the authenticity of these so I can stop getting flagged? The buyers who bought the two will probably get a notice that my listing got taken down and might think my item is not genuine and try to return it. What can I do? Ebay is a massive echo chamber with automated bots and no way to reach a human it seems. Does my feedback profile not count as anything? What about my long standing as a reliable ebay seller?

How do you know the store was not selling counterfeits? Did you find invoices in the business from Apple for the store's original wholesale purchase of the products?

The one thing you must realize here, apple product and the brand are cracking down resellers. A lot of it is apple itself not letting but 2-3 businesses resell their products. They shut Amazon down as well as Walmart so only 2 businesses can sell their products. With all the Chinese crap that has been circulating around causing fires and electrical issues, it’s just easier for them to do it this way. While you may see many listings still, most are probably established sellers that may have invoices. But I can almost guarantee when they run out of stock, they won’t be selling apple products much longer either. It’s just like if I made a product and other people said I can make it cheaper and then sell it under my brand name but then reviews come in that are negative and it ruins my reputation. I wouldn’t want that and neither does apple brand.

never relist anything here that you get flagged/pulled. if you keep relisting instead of just a warning, you get a suspension and then you find out you cannot sell anything here anymore.
Best bet is find some other places to sell them. When I had an item pulled, I sold my leftover stock at the local live auction site, never gave it a second thought to try to resell it here .

Any brand can actually claim it is counterfeit if it does not come from their store. It seems to be completely. I'm surprised Apple has not hit the VERO list. They have been pulling listings for years. I messed up and listed something as compatible. I tossed the item. Another one for the landfill.
Since you bought from a retailer, you should be able to submit receipts. It MIGHT get you okayed. I'm reading that it is unlikely these days though.

oh, I should explain about my item that got pulled I mentioned selling at a local auction instead above. My item wasn't a counterfeit item but an item that became unmailable by what was in the package when usps changed their ruling so the leftover stock I had that got pulled from ebay went to the local auction house instead, again it wasn't a counterfeit item just not shippable anymore. .

What if you purchased items from a authorized representative of the company? How do you know these are not counterfeit or stolen? Without someone physically examining a item how is it known to be counterfeit?
Actually if eBay determined something is counterfeit are they not required by law to report these illegal items?

In the 8+ yrs. selling from my current account, two of the approx. 3500 DVDs I have sold, were removed as counterfeits; that was not correct for either item. I have been vending movies for 31 yrs. and know the titles were genuine, but I did not relist.
Accept such is part of business and move on with sales.

I would just say you are on Ebays radar now and be very careful,Ebay suspends accounts willy nilly now.

Apple distributes its products through Apple stores and authorized major retailers such as Best Buy, Micro Center, now Walmart and Target and major cell phone carriers. (There are other authorized resellers of Apple products too.)
@kolosusbid, my guess is that a store that went out of business is not one that Apple would have allowed as an authorized distributor and the products were likely counterfeit.

Never relist some thing taken down if you want to keep selling here:
I pods are one of the most faked items out there. Surplus inventory from a closed store: or one ditching a product is a great indicator of fake, is a good reason that store went out of business or dumped a product from their shelf's....

I agree. If they were selling legitimate Apple Products their business would not have failed.

Even Apple products can make their way to secondary and tertiary markets.
