I clicked on the Make Offer in this listing, a box comes up with a Buy it Now price of the starting price of the auction, and I was able to make an offer of 2.00(although I didn't submit it).
Embarassing.

They all still show best offer for me, at least the 4 i listed tonight.
Cleared ALL of chome's cache, then ran CCleaner for good measure, tried to start a new listing, still has make offer. Guess I'll give them time to sort it out as I see I am not the only one this is happening to.

Someone bid on one of the item and now make offer button is gone.
HA, maybe it's a nice new feature, someone can make an offer before bidding starts. I'm half serious there.
Could some one please help me.

eBay would have to let us know if this is for real. I think it's just more lousy programming.

Well, at least that's a plus to a stupid change. I usually start my auctions at 9.99. When I listed the one that just ended, someone offered 40.00 if I switched to BIN. If you look any others, you won't find this exact one - only slightly different ones - that sell for 15-20.00.
So adding this will kill auctions. I knew better than to accept an offer on this one, but many won't. I see a lot of lost FVF's for ebay, and even more lost money to sellers.

But maybe not before 5 people put in snipe bids at 5-10 seconds before the auction ends .......

As everyone has stated, there isn't supposed to be a best offer on an AUCTION listing.
While probably a glitch, think about this, though. Maybe Ebay is trying to move auctions along, and increase revenue. If there are so many listings, and limited visibility for many, thus many go off with just one bid, IF a buyer comes along who really wants the item, but doesn't want to go through waiting a week, they could offer MORE than the bid price. It would be up to the seller to accept it or not, but if they do, seller might get a higher price, and Ebay has a new revenue stream. With a BIN, seller decides the price, but with a Best Offer, buyer would.
Of course, buyer might take the opposite tack and decide to submit LESS than the opening bid, thus defeating the purpose. Seller would still have right to accept or decline.
Just speculation, of course.
