Complete ineptitude across the EBAY platform & seller support

Never have I had such an awful online selling experience as I have using EBAY in June/July 2022. Sell a product and wait 2+ weeks to be paid for the item. Product has long since been received by the buyer but EBAY tells me they need me to provide them with a 2nd tracking tracking number through their automated shipping system in order to receive my payment........ 

Wait, so the product has been shipped, verified and delivered to the buyer, but you want me to generate a 2nd tracking number because I didn't ship the item using the EBAY service. What a **bleep** scam. What a total **bleep** scam. 

To add to this serious level of ineptitude, the people they have answering the phones on seller support barely speak English, and have a worse attitude than I do at this point (Which I did not think was possible) 

How this company is still in business and profitable is beyond me. They are total **bleep** scammers. 2+ weeks since the product has shipped and I'm still waiting to be paid my money. 

I hope one of the clowns that work for this company and have a shred of accountability will reach out to me, because this has been a total nightmare. I will never use EBAY again. end of story.

I hate to burst your bubble there..But you are not speaking to anyone who works for ebay. This is a community forum of buyers and sellers who come here to assist with issues. 

 

Your issue seems quite simple just up load the tracking number from where ever you got it and that should be sufficent. eBay just needs varification the the item was delivered successfully to the buyer.

 

You are a new seller ebay places hold on funds for up to 30 days. 

 

I doubt seriously that ebay would want you to buy an additional label for product you've already shipped... that doesn't make any sense.

 

Could it be possible in your present state of mind you misread the notice ebay sent you regarding your payout and what you need to do to get it? 

 

Just courious,  If you're not using ebay any more, why  are you still selling?

Don't worry, you haven't bursted my bubble...... 

1) I don't care if I'm speaking to EBAY representatives or not..... Is there a law against me sharing my experiences with others? If so, please inform me of that law.

2) As I mentioned in my first note, the tracking number for the delivered package WAS uploaded.... but tonight someone at seller support at EBAY told me that because I shipped the product with USPS and didn't print a label through the EBAY shipping platform, that was the reason my money is still on hold........ despite the fact the buyer has confirmed receiving the product. What kind of scam is that?

3) There have been no misinterpretations of the messages from Ebay, which have been few and far between with poor information to begin with. 

4) As stated in my first comment, I will not be using EBAY ever again, until I get compensation for the item I sold and shipped 2+ weeks ago. 


Thank you so much for your total waste of a response which has added zero value to the conversation.

If you spoke to someone at customer service over the phone then you probably just got bad information, a very common result of speaking to Ebay CS phone service.  Your money is on hold because you are a new seller.  All new sellers will have their money placed on hold for several weeks.  If you have continued questions best to contact Ebay for Business of Facebook rather than talking to the overseas hired help.

Just curious.

Why would you NOT print your label through ebay?

Do you have something against saving money?

 

I understand you came here to vent.  No problem. You have every right to say what you want.

I think you're out of line for chastising @ebooksdiva for speaking her mind.

They told you wrong. The overseas operators read from a script and have minimum training. They are known to sometimes give improper information. I would not waste my time calling them. You are better off here in the forum.

 

Did you read up on eBay’s selling policies before listing your first item? New seller holds and restrictions should not be a surprise. Below is info from eBay’s Help pages re: new seller holds and payouts. Good luck with this, and sorry your first selling experience was unsatisfactory.

You are not being asked to purchase another label.  You are being asked to simply type in the tracking number from the label you did use to prove the item was delivered.

We ship 30 to 110 packages a day.  If we only used eBay shipping we would lose 4-10% bottom line profit.  eBay has some great deals on FedEx shipping.  eBay pushes the USPS Standard Shipping which is a train wreck.  Takes forever to be delivered and has high level of being lost especially international.  Where the Seller gets killed is the return shipping.  eBay always selects USPS Priority for the returns.  Keep in mind eBay is making money on shipping over and above FVF.  So it is a greater profit center to ship a return Priority when it could have saved the Seller money by shipping First Class.  We use our own shipping program that cost $14.95 per month and get the very best discounted shipping from FedEx, USPS and UPS.  this why a smart Seller will not use eBay labels 100% of the time.

We use our own Fedex and UPS accounts and get better deals than on e-Bay for those 2.  

 

We have yet to beat the 1st class shipping discounts on e-Bay and the extra insurance on Priority (for us) is a plus.  Can I ask where you get a better deal on 1st class?

You jumped into selling without learning the ins and outs, ie holds for new sellers, how to add tracking to the transaction if you don’t purchase your label from eBay, etc.

 

The information is all there for those who take time to read it, speaking of accountability and all.

Just upload the tracking number in the order details again! Since you didn't purchase the shipping label via the ebay system, there is always the possibility that you misentered what ever tracking number that you have as proof. It's that simple!

In my case, they are not paying me the sales from Last days of May......they say it will be liberated payment in 30 days....although do not do. Nor with the delivery confirmation, nor with the 30 days, nor with the positive feedback.

 

I am not new,  been selling from 1999 on ebay

 

Seems ebay have cash problems and get financed with the sales of sellers? I have put a post over it.

 

Keep carefull, I refuse today to make a sale of 2000 us because ebay still owe me 1500 us$, and I do not know for you , but for me is a lot of money. Can not take the risk until is clear

 

Ebay do not answer nothing coherent..........fear......take carre with what you sell
