Competition from China is too Much. It's Overwhelming

So recently i noticed a Seller from Mainland China selling an ATV part on Amazon for 400 dollars

where his main sales are.

The same Seller has a Co. Website where he sells the same part for 450 dollars

The same Seller has an Ebay page where he sells the same part for 300 dollars

The same Seller has Direct from China Pricing on Temu and AlieExpress where he sells the same part for 100 dollars.

It seems to me these Greedy Chinese just don't understand how to stop. They are even trying to undercut

pricing so low that 2nd hand, open box new, and as is items can't be sold anymore.

These people are nasty for having such a pricing structure. This isn't business, They treat it as if this were War.

I know he pays more fees here on Ebay than on Amazon, yet he sets his pricing very low on Ebay making even less profit. He's just trying to gobble up all the sales. Dastardly !

They learned from the best.

And the best do not like a taste of their own medicine.

I am constantly amused at how we Americans expect others to share our sense of fair play -- to the extent that we have one any longer -- and then are SHOCKED when we discover that other cultures are not like us.

We are uniquely naive: protected by two vast oceans, no shared border with a neighbor that wants to destroy us, Americans are content to whistle past the graveyard.

Over the centuries China (and most of the rest of the world) has known nothing but conflict, and has adjusted accordingly.

Did anyone really think that a 5000 year old civilization (with a recorded history back to 2100 BC if I am not mistaken) would be content to remain agrarian and docile and not seek to outdo the world's largest imperial power -- which made the fatal mistake in 1979 of granting Beijing MFN status, and in 2001 allowed China into the WTO?

I am no fan of China, Russia, or any other of our antagonists.

But history has proven time and again that the uniquely American mix of complacency, hubris and arrogance is our own worst enemy.

This IS war.   Are you only now figuring that out?

I for one certainly hope that we win... but we are not terribly motivated.   And the lack of motivation seems to grow with each passing year.

Incorrect.  They are desperate to displace the USA as the world's preeminent power.

Tariffs are not the answer.

The American people need to wake up from their fast-food-and-social-media-induced slumber.

As if that's ever gonna happen.

When I buy parts online I insist they be OEM.

That pretty much leaves China out.

To the communist Chinese, it IS war.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

To them it is War, their economy is suffering greatly, & tariffs are going to make things worse for them & us, So they are constantly after the American dollar & now more than ever!, It is an economic war we have entered into with allies as well, We have to see what the outcome will be.

It's not just an economic war.

When it comes to manufacturing, the USA abdicated its leadership role in the world  decades ago. So China moved into the vacuum and became a primary player.

But now the USA is abdicating its leadership role in the world in other areas - like technology, renewable energy, the WTO, the WHO, climate change, healthcare, defense, protecting weaker countries from Russian aggression, and general goodwill. So we risk China moving into the vacuum and became the primary player in those areas as well.

In my opinion it is just not feasible for small sellers to sell items that are currently being produced in china and already being sold on multiple venues.

It's as if they set the pricing structure by watching The Price is Right.

Karen thinks the price is 795

Tim thinks the price is 1100

Wanda thinks the price is 900

Sandra thinks the price is 1 dollar

I can only hide my disgust for them with humor  😭

The real issue here is the United States Post Office and US Customs.

Its cheaper to send a 10 x 10 x 10 box at 1 lbs from china to the us than to ship the same box from NY to NJ.

I deal with this daily (hourly so far today).
I price a quality used OEM atv part for $50.
Shopper sends me an add for the same part, new, aftermarket, for $40.
I have not found a nice way to explain to a Can Am owner......That if they put enough cheap Chinese parts on their Can Am, they should have just bought a CFMoto instead.
Thankfully, there are a lot of riders that have learned their lesson on chinese

Why do you need to tip-toe around a CanAm owner?

Are they THAT sensitive?

Have we become SO effeminate that we can't talk business with each other?

Why can't you just say:  "If you put enough cheap Chinese parts on your Can Am, you should have just bought a CFMoto instead."
