As a seller, one of my biggest problems is that people do not know how to navigate the shopping cart and combined shipping to request a lower postage cost when they buy multiple items. Their failure to request a revised invoice with a lower shipping cost usually cost me money in that they then expect me to refund part of their shipping cost even when they purchase items separately.
This needs attention from Ebay!

Their failure to request a revised invoice....
It is not often "buyer failure".

I only looked at one of your listings. You do tell buyers to wait for an invoice if purchasing multiple items, and that items will be shipped separately if paid separately. That's all you can do.
I will suggest that perhaps you add a blank line between your sentences so that statement stands out.

I'll assume you have Automatic Combined Shipping set up, so for those customers of mine that don't know to use the Shopping Cart... I refund about a little over 1/2 of their additional 2nd+ shipping charge and put the following message in their refund:
Partial refund for combining shipping. For maximum, and automatic, shipping discounts for future orders use Add to Cart to add all qualifying items to your cart and check out in a single transaction. If you are on a phone or other mobile device, be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the combined/discounted shipping charge. Thanks again for your purchases!
I've never had a single complaint or argument that I'm not refunding *all* the extra charges. I do this without them having to ask, so you are seen as having good customer service'. This also encourages them to do it 'right' the next time, and I'm at least partially compensated for my time.

That's a great idea, and very proactive.
Tp the OP, there is a serious glitch in the cart, as in sometimes it reverts to 'seller does not offer combined shipping'. Then the buyer has to work with the seller on a refund such as above, of excess s/h. I have never had a seller NOT work with me on this. Kudos to the honest sellers here.
