Classic shipping option gone! No 1ST Class option on new page! **bleep**

So Ebay is going to force me to use Priority Mail, when my choice was 1st Class, as the item is under a pound??? We are constantly trying to reduce overhead due to the ridiculous changes Ebay keeps making.

There have been some discussions that suggest the package type is blocking this make sure you are using package or large envelope or package. For letter and envelope it is not available. Also some sellers have said going into paypal and purchasing the label there works.

I saved the old page as a bookmark just in case that happens. I haven't had to try to use it yet as I still have the option to switch to the old page as well, but once it's gone, I have the bookmark. It works with the "all lists" old page bookmark that disappeared awhile back. You might try that?

Won't those that are TRS lose their 3% ebay discount on shipping then?

eBay gives TRS a 3% discount on Priority  Mail and Priority Express. There's no eBay discount for other services, so prices on PayPal will be the same for First Class packages, Parcel Select, and Media Mail.

They should have never changed the old page.  They made it WAY more complicated.  I am having the same problem....16 oz is not first class on this.  Ugh!

As far as I know First Class is only available up to 15.99 ounces so they are technically correct.

dogate - Well, that still does not answer the question as to the current changes. No matter what some previous posters have stated, it used to be that you could enter a weight of 16 oz. and it could ship USPS 1st class. Now it will only allow a max weight of 15 oz. for 1st class. Does that mean that if you chose 15 oz. that it covers a weight up to 15.99 oz. or just to an even 15 oz? I called Ebay on this and they were totally confused and of no help. Somebody please clear this up.

There is no difference in price between 15 oz and 16 oz so entering 15 oz should be fine.

I thought this too but then I looked at the individual listings and many had the shipping weight as over a pound.  Once I correctly noted jewelry items weigh 8 oz (or less) I got the FC option back.

I get an EBay discount on both 1st Class and Priority, and I’m not TRS.

Are you referring to an additional discount?

No you don't.

You get the same online commercial base rates through eBay labels that you get via PayPal, Amazon, Endicia, Stamps.com, etc.

eBay tries to take credit for the difference between retail rates and the online rates, and calls it a "discount", but it is not in that sense as those rates are available from any online PC postage provider.

As a perk, eBay TRS used to get online Commercial Plus Rates which were rates discounted by USPS approx 3%. Since USPS made Commercial Base and Commercial Plus rates the same in 2019, and TRS howled a bit at loss of that 3%, eBay is giving TRS sellers approx 3% actual discount on their Priority rates out of their own pockets.
