Chatgpt for listings?

Anyone tried Chatgpt to write better listings for them?

Since you asked I tried using a chatbot.

Here’s a short eBay listing for a "1923 Fada radio that works, Following eBay policies":

Title: Vintage 1923 Fada Radio - Fully Functional

Description: For sale is a vintage 1923 Fada radio in working condition. This radio has been well-maintained and is a great addition to any collection. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history!

Please note that all sales are final and in compliance with eBay’s policies.

This seems very much like trouble waiting to happen.

The only part of it that seems useful might be "a great addition to any collection. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history!"

Otherwise I am sure many could point out why the rest is not recommended text.

Of course, with a lot of work you might be able to 'steer' chat into what would work better.

I dont recommend it except to get ideas for 'phrases' that you then carefully integrate into a listing.

Because eBay sells advertising space,not items?

Sellers  do their own sourcing, packaging and shipping.

The chatbot may be able to write descriptions, perhaps even Item Specifics....no, those are too precise especially with used/thrifted/ collectible items, and provide stock photos which are not allowed on used goods in any case.

LOL - I like shipping....  Luckily my youngest likes to redesign my store.  I need to get her listing.  She also likes to clean out her room so there are never ending piles to list.  And the kid grows like a weed - third time buying all her school clothes this year!

Dear chatbot, please find me a 1950s Gibson Les Paul, with only damage I can fix myself, where the seller wont cheat me, the price is 40% under it's estimated value and the parts are all original. Give higher priority to sunburst finishes and sellers closer than 50mi to my house. No auctions please. 🙂
