Recap: I received payment from a buyer and the funds were put into my PayPal account. I then transferred the funds to my Bank account, the transfer was successful. My PayPal account now has a balance of zero. The buyer then requested for a refund, in which I accepted to pay the full amount. I could not refund because my balance was zero, so I got a family member to transfer me funds. I then refunded successfully.
What I am confused with is does the original payment from the buyer which I transferred to my Bank account, stay in my account? Or was it also taken back?

It shouldn't have been taken out of your bank account..........However, it might have been depending on the time line of when the family funds were transferred to paypal........ You should check with your bank to see if anything was transferred back to paypal.........

I came to find out that the refund statement on PayPal stated that the refund itself was "Funded by PayPal balance," so i'm assuming that the funds transferred to my bank account should not have been taken out and that the funds within my PayPal account was indeed the one charged for the refund. All that's left is checking with the bank to make sure the original transfer was not reverted. Thanks for the help.
