Is it a problem to change the title and description of the existing list to match the listing?

But I wanted to add two more words to the title and description and update.
So what I wanted to know was the issue of changing the title and description and updating?
Yes, you can do that as long as there are no bids or open offers on the item.

It's not a problem to me.
Why doesn't the title and description match the listing?
When you list different items, they need their own listing, not a variation listing.

It is certainly possible but you are so limited on the title of the listing. Your description should be more descriptive and include details that you probably cannot fit into the title, at least I generally can't.

@dbfolks166mt Does this mean that changing the title is inappropriate?

If there are no bids, it is not a problem

Not if, as others mentioned, there are no bids on the item if it is an auction type format. I believe at that point you cannot change the title field. If it is a BIN listing then it should not be an issue. I have on occasion change the title for one reason or another without any problem. A lot of times it was to correct a spelling error or due to some question/information somebody had asked after they viewed the item.

Provided you have no bidders (on an Auction) there is no problem.
If it is a Fixed Price Listing, you can't change either if there is an open Offer, you have to refuse the Offer first.
You have 82 keystrokes free in your Title.
The Description can be much longer and much more detailed.

I suppose that it should be mentioned that in instances where the title and description can be changed, caution should be observed if the "2 words" change things about the item. Like maybe adding "2 cracks", or 'broken base", or "poor finish" or such.
Sometimes buyers look at auctions, and even BIN listings, and then bid/purchase without looking again.
While that is on the buyer to know what they are buying, a surprise change after the 1st look may not work out well for buyer, or seller.

Does that mean that once an offer is made (it is a car for sale, NOT an auction), the title can never be changed? I ask because I am unable to change my title and do not know why. I simply want to delete a couple of words that I had intended for the subtitle. Am I out of luck without paying another $79 for a new listing, or is there something else I can do?
Thank you!
Bob
