Anyone have any suggestions as to why the categories an item is listed in is not showing when I view an item. Sometimes I look at how others have an item listed to help me with how to list mine. This just recently disappeared. Thanks.

Now this method is gone.
Ebay search is Much Worse because of this decision.
It isn't gone, but it is in a place no one is use to looking. In the ISBs [item specific boxes] as @dhbookds Notes.

No, you're right, it's not gone, but it might as well be. The old place was perfect, easy to access, easy to do drill down searches.
Oh well!

I agree with you. I'm not trying to argue with you. They have made it a little better by putting it in the ISBs [item specific boxes] now. That is leaps better than at the bottom of the listings. Still I'm with you, I like it better at the top. But located in the ISBs helps.

The issue with this is suggestions load in constantly so you cant view the bottom of the page for more than half a second before the next page worth of suggested items loads in. It's poorly designed, like everything they try to change.

When I process the "infinite scroll" and finally reach the bottom of the page, I wonder how people can pay good money for promoted listings when they appear in the middle or toward the end of this mess. It makes promoted listings look like a bad deal.
The gross amount of alternate promoted listings under someone's native listing is rediculous and irritating.

The Categories have been also included now in the ISBs [item specific boxes]. Usually on the bottom of the left side. This makes it much better.

Now I have found it in "item specifics", the last entry.

Yes @antiquer4 , I gave you a screen shot above. It is the last item in the first column.

As stated by others, it has now been moved (within just the past week of Mid July) from the 'very bottom' to the 'Item Specifics' box.

No it has been in the ISBs longer than that. Maybe if you just started seeing it they rolled it out. IDK. But I've been seeing it for awhile now.

I read that too. It is new to me too. I'm trying to get some answers on WHY? Other than it would force someone to scroll through all those other listings, that they may find interesting enough to click on.
The category still is showing at the top with the related categories on ca. I believe in the past in eBay's mind listing an item in the correct category was extremely important. Jumping forward to all the category tinkering eBay has done over the past few years, not so much. Many categories that are available have been removed or combined. There is some major variance to the categories between ca and com. (You would think the categories would closely mirror between the 2 sites. Not so much anymore.) The big one for me is limited options for mixed lots. Used to be sub category for that in almost every main category. Now majorityf of those are gone. Causing "some" sellers to use the old adage....close enough when creating listings. Doing research searches I routinely find items that are mixed in to a search results that are nowhere close to what I was looking for. Even doing a book or dvd search can get you garbled results.

When I view your listings, I see your category where I see everyone else's, in the ISB's. First column at the bottom.

If you go to the "About this item" --> "Item specifics" box, just before "Item description from the seller," look in the lower left corner and you'll see "Category" with the information you want. For example,
Category Collectibles & Art Animals Cats Figurines
