Hi, I had a transaction that the buyer opened a case for saying he didn't receive the item. It shows as delivered and it was my understanding that ebay would side with the seller 100% of the time if it showed as delivered. The buyer is stating it would show in his favor if he is able to prove he didn't actually receive it. Is this true? Do I have anything to worry about? Could I be out the item and the 186 bucks?

Welcome!
I recently had a package with tracking showing delivered to me but it was actually delivered to my neighbor down the street. It was an expensive item so I was practically sitting by the door waiting. The first thing I did was file a missing package claim with the PO, then I walked the street and saw a (my) package on someones doorstep, and rang the doorbell to let them know what I was doing. It happens, but I never thought that it was the sellers fault, nor do I think any rational person would blame the seller.

If you have a tracking number that shows delivered to the buyer, then plug it into the case and the buyer is full of it. You will prevail and the buyer cannot disprove what the tracking shows.

Thank you, I've entered in the tracking info. He has opened up an investigation with usps too. Which makes me think he may be telling the truth, which would be unfortunate for him. But I think you are right that he is full of it. One more question, I qualify for my super seller badge(I forget the name) tomorrow, this will not affect it?

You haven't done anything wrong to affect your super duper badge status! You delivered and if the buyer can't find his package that's on them. Porch pirate, delivered to a neighbor...whatever, it's his problem now.

Given the current issues with USPS for higher value items I have been requiring a signature at receipt, which I plainly state in the posting. This has a double effect, first it seems to discourage a lot of scammers and it also provides some added security to the buyer as well as seller. It cost a few dollars to add that option which I have to factor into the costs but in some cases it is worth it. Just some food for thought.

I recently had a similar issue. Plugged in the tracking number and won. But went a step further. Called my PO, gave them the tracking number and they gave me the GPS numbers of the location of where the package delivered. I looked it up and emailed the buyer with the location. It is on her now!

Another solution is ask USPS/FedEx/UPS to provide the GPS coordinates of the delivery scan, which they all have. (You have to go to a post office and ask in person since USPS's help phone line has no option that lets you talk to a person.)
I've had more than 1 package get delivered to the wrong address and the GPS coordinates prove that the deliver wasn't to my address. At that point the issue becomes USPS's problem for delivering an item to the wrong address.

Hi, today i had a case item not received after 97 days.
I could not find it in my order history so i went to PayPal for the records.
In PayPal the ammount is "on hold".
I send the item 28 of February and today the buyer open a case.
I provided also tracking number from the day i have send it.
Tracking latest info shows
The bayer claims that :
I have not received my package and the South African Postal service is not trustworthy, non-reliable and mostly corrupt. Please refund or send with a courier
What i have to do?
I send message with latest info and update the same tracking.

Is there a place in the case to request an extension?
Upload the tracking & request an extension if it's possible..

Well I would surely add the tracking to the case.. When you do that, check to see if there's an extension option.
There is a way to request an extension but I've never had to do it.
Your post is buried behind a "solved" issue so if you ever need to post again, creating a new topic is probably the best idea.
What I have located is this: "Contact eBay and ask them to put case on hold for 10 days. If item not delivered by this time you just need to refund buyer and try to file package intercept. This should allow a minimum of 3 weeks."
So I would use the contact link at the page bottom. You will enter your info and they will call you.
Make sure to check the case again if they grant you the extension. Don't let the date expire or eBay will refund and you'll receive a defect on your account.

Wouldn't that show that the seller does not care if the buyer receives the package? Everyone isn't a scammer. The buyer should expect to receive the package. The seller should insure that the buyer receives the package. And to be sure, no more dealings with that seller.

With seller protection, and a “delivered” status, even if he is refunded, it will be covered by eBay, not you.
