Cannot correct spelling of name on account panel

Hello sellers--- My name is spelled incorrectly on the "My Account" personal information panel.  Over the years, I have gone to that panel, hit edit, and corrected spelling including a capitalization of a lower case lette, and then hit "save" literally hundreds of times.  It simply reverts back to misspelling.  I have tried by erasing whole name and reentering.  I have tried just correcting the one wrong letter. I have tried just erasing first name and reentering only first name.  Now that ebay will be sending me a 1099, I would like it to be correct.  Does anyone know why I cannot correct the spelling of my name ? I have tried to contact ebay, but that is impossible.  I could not get a computer "chat", an automated assistant, a call back, or a live person (if there are any). What am I doing wrong in trying to "edit" ? Thank you.

I think its because you have already registered for managed payments. When you do that, your name has to be spelled exactly the same way on your eBay account and your checking account, and they may check it on your SSN as well as part of the verification process.

So now, if you changed it on your eBay account, it wouldn't match anymore.

This also questions how OP was able to sign up for Managed Payments, unless his name was also incorrectly spelled on his bank account and SSN.

Also once you get verified and confirmed for Managed Payments, you can still change you name on your ebay account even if it no longer matches you bank account.  I have done it a couple of times without any issue.  So something else is wrong here.

I suggest OP try using a different browser.  There are some odd glitches with edit/save on the personal info page with some browsers.  Try Firefox.

 From a programming standpoint, the info is most likely stored in a different place.  We know there are 6 or 7 different places to change your address when you move.  This is probably just coming from somewhere else.  Where?  I don't know unfortunately.  

BTW, this type of thing is very poor programming to have the same info in multiple places.  It creates lots of problems for testers/debuggers b/c they think it's using the info from Field A & it's really using it from Field B.  When I worked for a huge software co that sold debugging software to Fortune 100 clients, this type of thing was one of the top 2 problems I would see.  They thought they were running the module from Library A, but they were really running the one from Library B & the modules were different.   The question here is where is that data coming from & IDK how to even begin to find out, as this is not the type of thing CSR's would know.
